Strict pickup before 30/7/19. Just read that. Sure to make it hard for inter state buyers.
Have a read of the instructions being Lot1.
Have a read of this too ... maybe not so hard for interstate buyers .. I'll give them a call on Monday to suss things out so we can flood the market with this cheap gear :)

Hi Jake,
You have posted about this in every forum for windsurfing and kiting .
Why have you been promoting this ?
You have said stuff like this what dreams are made of. Most of us don't dream about boards covered in black smoke soot , bottom of board sitting in 50 mm of hot black water from putting fire out where temperatures have been way above that experienced inside a locked car. Some of the boards may have damage from not being handled very well during the fire, or transport from Sydney to Gold Coast.
The pictures online would have been quicker to take 2 pictures of the boards condition ,one of each side than look up the web and put new pictures on?
Much of these pictures from the web do not match the year of the equipment being advertised
Handling boards you get black sort over your hands.
Your comment about flooding the market with cheap gear is not very welcome for the majority of people who's resale could be affected by this gear in the second hand market.

I reckon there may be some good buys for those that will make the effort to get their @rses down to Carrara and inspect the goods and then place an informed bid based on what they see. If you're not willing to do that, then sure, it's a gamble.

Nice pickup Cocky2. Sounds to me like Jake works for this Auction house.............full of promotion comments!!!! This whole thing stinks..........sane people stay well clear.
From what I have been told the store was offered and did not want to buy back the gear.
That would be normal though. You are a retailer, not a board repairer, so you wouldn't set yourself up for selling boards that may or may not be faulty and potentially create lots of problems. In the same way I think retailers only offer trade-ins and second hand sales as it helps them sell new gear.
1/2 tempted to put a bid in until I saw the stock photos. Any auction house that can't do the work of a photo and an accurate description of the item should be viewed as a scam. Sad that this laziness still exists in the industry
Dunno what you are all on about. Click on the image n up pops current photos of the damaged gear. I can see many things worth buying which show NO damage to original packaging. Still an inspection would be advisable on the more susceptible items.

Hi Jake,
Why have you been promoting this ?
a) Because there should be some great deals and i am trying to help our seabreeze friends.
b) I was lucky enough to be the first one to start the thread.
c) I don't want the kitesurfers or QLD guys to miss you (as the QLD guys have the best opportunity to inspect the boards).
I don't think many interstate guys are likely to pay high prices for unseen boards & sails & masts.
The boards & sails & masts should work out well for the QLD guys.
Plenty of accessories for the rest .. I'l try to give them a call tomorrow to suss out lloyds shipping options .. and report back.
there are no issues if you dont want to buy anything so everything is chill from my end. if you dont want me to help others, please let me know. I am actually fully stocked with my favourite gear .. I might only be interested in a spare fin or mast base, so it's not really worth bothering for myself unfortunately because it could be a bit of fun trying to snag a bargain.

no worries .. I'm pretty busy at work tomorrow anyway .. so somebody else can call lloyds and report back to the seabreeze team on shipping options for interstate guys for the small gear.
in future, i'll stick with ozbargain.com.au to chat about any shopping bargains. I guess you're not an ozbargainer. www.ozbargain.com.au
There's a good sale at supercheapauto this weekend if you need any car gear ... 20% to 60% off .. dont forget cashrewards or shopback for extra discount.

So who in Qld is gonna help out a poor WA fella who can't inspect...?
Yeah
can someone in qld go in, assess all the gear in detail and put up a full report on seabreeze please.. ha ha ..
About time queenslanders got a pick of some bargains,, if they are.
WA is full of bargains all the time i reckon with windsurfing compared to most other states..
if piunters are really keen fly over and check it all out i say to anyone, few masts, base, board or two pays for the holiday .. if they are not cooked.
Im driving up from Tassie with 10 mates in my transit Starship to put some serious bids down.![]()
its going to be a HOT bidding war this one ![]()
Could someone buy one of the worse looking boards for $20. Then sacrifice it. Cut it in slices every 30 cm and see if it has been damaged? Then post photos. Please??

You can not do anything until after the action date is finished .
Maybe this glut of cheap gear will make windsurfing popular again on the gold coast....given there is currently about 10 of us :-)
Attention all surfers & kite surfers - dont miss this opportunity to come hang with the cool kids.
And FYI, anyone thinking of bidding on the pink chest harness - back down - you wont win. Ill pay well over RRP if i need to to win this puppy
Looks like we're all good to go for the smaller lots .. here is the reply ..

I assume this applies only to smaller lots ?? Maybe this? Still a bit lost and can't seem to get through to talk to someone.
www.lloydsonline.com.au/Shipping.aspx
* Smaller lots can not exceed a weight of 22kg after packaging & 1.2m in length.
Seeing some of bids already on the gear I wonder how many people haven't realised there is a 22% auction fee on top of you bid price.
Agree with others re damage from heat. Some of the boards clearly have been affected by heat. You can see it even from the low res photos.
there are some items that look good though. Eg enigma boom which still has plastic wrapping... so can't be heat damaged.
All up though I don't think there is enough in terms of numbers to make a big dent into the market. if anything it'd be weary of any near new boards being offered for sale Seabreeze in the next month or so. there is always someone who will be tempted to flip gear from this auction.
This really interests me as an intermediate in VIC looking to fill out my sail range (every mast I have has the wrong curve or its RDM not SDM then I need a new foot etc etc) becomes frustratingly expensive just to find a good little sail to user in strong winds or put onto my SUP for some wave sailing (where I dont have to worry about losing $350+when I drag it over the rocks or bust a mast)
Thanks to the guy that inspected some of the gear, I havent had a chance to look at exactly what could suit me yet, but in the interest of time i was thinking a service like Airtasker could help us here
www.airtasker.com/tasks/?task_states=posted%2Cassigned%2Ccompleted%2Coverdue%2Cclosed&lat=-28.021&lon=153.36900000000003&location_name=Carrara%20QLD%2C%20Australia&radius=15000&task_types=physical&max_price=9999&min_price=5
We can raise a job and get someone to go onsite and better photograph / inspect the lots we are interested in. (Pay them $10 per lot or something like that)
I just thought id put this idea out there now with 6 days to go in case there is some interest in organizing it...
Ginno.
PM me if you are definitely going to pick stuff up and will be driving back down past Taree.
I don't need anything big
Yeah Mr Mikey, and I agree with stehsegler above and wonder if everyone realises there is a 22% charge on top.

Also looks like they're auctioning off the fin/footstraps /vent screw pac separately on the new boards ??

Yes because it's worth more than the boards themselves...
Got a quote from Pack n Send to pick up a board and mast from the auction site, and send to Canberra... $450.
Thats me out. Good luck bidding everyone!

Pack n Send .. I could have told you not to waste your time.
Transdirect and ego .. packing is the hard part though.
Am I right in thinking they expect everything to be collected the day after the auction?
The date is in the terms ... Or read my post above .. log in to your account, then pay for postage and wait for delivery.

Looked at that , a boom sent with Allied express for $240 then one quoted at 10cm longer costs $740 to send to WA?!?! WTF
Verrryyy interested of course, being a repairer etc but the freight would end up being a pain.
Thinking about it...... so firstly
(1) who knows what happened, gather shop or distributors fire. There's a difference between maybe got water spray or maybe got warm and "almost melted then floated upside down with no bung in for hours on end...." Can the Qld crew find out?
(2) any WA crew interested in group buy if they win an item and we do joint freight?
(3) any QLD crew coming here for summer interested in free repair if they bring over any board I may buy?
Mark, Any WA crew get back to you? Im interested on a few items. Even a board if it can be sent? I know of a couple here also interested but no ones bid yet
