I think we all need to smoke the peace pipe at the Nationals. Who's gonna bring the Ganga? Be cool and happy sailing.

Sounds cool man, count me in then.
Yep, get it organised.
I'll bring pizza.

The Nat's are going to be fantastic with all the class's in one place at Myall Lakes. That's huge.

Are there any details up yet about the 2019 Nationals at Myal Lakes? I did a quick Google search and found Nada.

Other questions: Am I correct to assume the board has a powerbox type fin box?

And what would be the possibilities of sailing it with a 45 to 50degree weed fin in some of the very weedy lakes (we have a nice one right in the middle of my home town ) Has anyone experienced this? Does the centreboard work ok raked back enough to shed weed?

Cheers.

We could ask the race committee for 1 race with all classes together and stagger the starts like they do in WAGS races, The slowest boats off first so everyone converges on the finish line together.

We'd really rather not fight through other boards in a national title.

Not as part of a title, just one race for fun.

Three different classes racing at the same time, I expect there will be a bit of fighting through other boards anyway.

I reckon it'd be good for fun. Logistics might be a handful already though, I wonder.

Mate, I use the centerboard at different angles anyway depending on wind strength, angle to wind, and mast track position accordingly.
Also a weed fin would work for sure.

Just give us Foilers a heads up that the race has started so we can finish up our lunch and head down to the Lake.

I think the bottom marker will be in about 6 inches of water. The wallys will enjoy watching the carnage of the other classes as they gybe and power on! Lol! A few catapults back to the campsite where you can watch the brilliance and simplicity of the Original Windsurfer!

seriously though, the wallys are not confirmed at Myall Lakes yet. The executive are looking into it and have not committed as yet.

fingers crossed we get a united nationals up and running

The Raceboard and Formula classes have chosen to hold their National Championship's at the same time same place. Great because it brings everyone together just means some of us who like both classes have to decide which one to sail. Based on what Alby said above the wallies are still to decide.

If another class wanted to join in, I guess they would need to speak to the regatta organiser's and make a request. I am guessing your thinking of a D2 class. Whilst that would be cool I suspect many sailors on either RB or Formula would have to make a choice between D2 and the other classes as well.

I would be keen on a D2 regatta but at a different time so I am not forced to choose.

Already been voted on and Mayal Lakes was the majority, but Presidents decision is final.
It's gotta be fantastic for windsurfing. Worthy of some great media coverage I recon.
Fingers and toe's crossed.

Me too. The other alternative is to bring our D2s and have a one-day regatta after the nationals for other classes.

Yeah, I was thinking D2 but I also realise that most D2 guys are also Raceboard, so they would have to make the decision. My shoulder is still buggered but I'd definitely be up for a D2 states or nationals in the summer. Maybe a topic for the Div II thread.

You guys won't have time for lunch, you will be to busy just trying to get all your equipment assembled, and then you will have to decide on what sail to use.

I think a united Nat's was also going to include the Techno's as well. Logistical nightmare.
I don't want to go to Sydney though.

I just watched a short video of the regatta posted by the Windsurfer Class Association of Australia. It did look like the good old days of floundering around, trying to pump, while lightweights glided past. It just reinforced why I no longer sail a wally

Looked like they were sailing in weight divisions so i dought it would be sailor weight enabling some to glide past. Just better sailors. Looks fun to me, but we all see fun differently. .

As Neve said, they race in weight divisions so you can't blame weight for speed issues. I find One Designs to be less weight sensitive than Raceboards.

I'm so happy you found a class that is not weight sensitive
The new windsurfer Lt has more volume , you should try it.
maybe windsurfer Inc should send a windsurfer Lt to the windsurfer centre of excellence ?

Sounds good, can you organise please I am sure we will put it to good use every weekend. As already mentioned the Wallies (old or new) are very welcome to come and race at RQ.

I've found my niche in the GPSTC and am very happy.
