Bugger i rounded to 1 decimal place when i shouldve used 16ths of an inch. So that makes it LONGER by about 10thou? Not shorter, Right???
Bring on the vid of the MISSILE in action.

I don't know about the cruise missile but the extra length of the Silver Bullits makes them handle chop more comfortably ( not smashing into every piece like shorter slalom boards) . They go upwind great and they are designed for comfort and control in chop. They are full on fun!
Don't knock them till youve tried one..

aren't these also the traits of the severne fox? a shorter slalom board... a board universally praised for it's comfortable ride through chop. go figure. i guess it's not all about length.

^^ Have you tried a 250+ length board other than your LT lately?
Longer rocker makes the pitching moment less aggressive.
Then theres to benefit of running a smaller fin.
Ohh what a can of worms....
Get that Missile video up!
Thatll put a Missile right up the neysayers....

awesome maths, and awesome looking board .

this board reminds me of my old and dead 2001 F2 130 ride ,one of the best ocean going board i have ever owned ,and very fast .

however this looks ,far more advanced ,the tail will work well ...do you thinks its a 35 knot board ? I wouldn't be surprised .

Over the years plenty. Been windsurfing since the late 80's. My first wave slalom board was 9'2" and all the slalom boards i used up till 2000 were 270 long.

There is a local guy with a windtech and he isnt planing earlier, going upwind better or gybing easier than everyone else. Sure hes having a ball but so are the rest of us. So why all the hyperbole.

Im not saying they are not good boards but im also not turning my back on the history of windsurfing.

Exactly! Different strokes for different folks.Really gotta try em back to back to appreciate the pros n cons of the different designs though. Memories are prone to distortion/age/ability.

Is that a drink holder in front of the mast track?

It can be used for whatever you like. Drink bottle, snacks, flares, spare fin for a fin swap, whatever. Some of the GPS spots I sail to require a long upwind slog so will be using the storage recess to take a spare fin if I make a bad choice before a big session. Also comfortably fits a water bottle and energy foods (Snickers bars) etc.

Didn't you truncate to one decimal place ?

If you rounded to one decimal place you'd have gone from 112.992126 to 113.0 ?

Just saying.

Nice looking board though.

my 2 cents ,being a owner of pre 2000 boards and late model boards and a heavy weight i actualy got to test the old and new on the same marginal day .the longer skiny board,a f2 xantos was easyer to get on the plane than the super sport and could do it with out havig to bear away.both boards reached same speeds but if the wind had filled in the f2 would be faster .

So what you are saying is that if I use imperial units it will fit in my van easier than if I use metric?

Back in the days of feet and inches length didn't matter.

Did we move to vans because we'd collected so much gear or did we collect so much gear because vans are the only modern cars cool enough to drive around in?

Errr, correction. Length has always been important. VOLUME however took a few decades to catch on. So i guess youre kinda right, the volume of boards was what led to vans man.

You'd have to know whether the van itself is imperial or metric wouldn't you?

And now that boards no longer fit inside vans, and you're not flying anywhere exotic in the foreseeable future, they might as well bring back one piece masts to put up there on the roof racks as well. 300 grams lighter, uniform flex, the end of the "stuck mast" thread....

Although i must apologise to Pacey for hijacking the CRUISE MISSILE thread. Great concept, great design, great lookin board.

PS. Very glad we've finally got the length thing sorted! WT will NOT be changing the graphics!!

In the mid-80's custom slalom boards really took off. I purchased a Precision Equip one for the 2nd (I think) Ledge to Lancelin. It was gorgeous, just heavy compared with modern boards. I'd love to move the mast track back and replace the US box with tuttle/powerbox to see how it goes with modern sails.

It would be interesting to see how the specifications compare with the Cruise Missile.

No no no ... it is not the precision that is the "problem", it is the mixing of decimal and duodecimal systems. 9.4 feet is not equal to 9'4". Easy to see for 9.5 feet: 9 feet and a half equals 9' and 6" The equivalence 287 = 9'4" is wrong by about 1" either way. 287 is about 9'5", and 9'4" is about 284.5. We'll never know how long the board is!!!!!!!!

I wonder how that influences its performance ...

^ Bet it matters neither here nor there. As long as its longer or shorter at the nose. hehe
Regardless i achieved my goal anyway.
Looks like WT will send a board for SEQld to testride. YEEEEWWW!!!
Thank you very muchly Mr WT.
