Yeah been there done that.
I use to poledance and worked at a hire place,
but got a bit bored with it, and like most found kiting more of a rush, besides, I couldnt grow a Queen style mo so got some tatts and kited instead![]()
More like you tried to windsurf, failed because you didn't have the skill or persistence and settled for kiting instead

You may have made a mistake. I think lotofwind was talking literally. He worked as a poledancer and the 'hire' place is something we shouldn't be talking about on a family friendly forum ![]()

When people ask you if your boom got run over by a car and you have to explain to them that 'it's called a Z-boom'
When your kids start buying their own windsurf kit.
Sorry, grandkids
When your kids start buying their own windsurf kit.
Cam, I bet you were cheering!
WHEN YOUR 86TH BIRTHDAY IS SEVEN WEEKS AWAY
You are an inspiration to us all Al. I reckon you will still be sailing at 90!
When you snapped a wooden boom because it was still undecided if you should sail hook up or hook down with this new thing called a harness. You chose hook up, but have sailed hook down ever since.
"when you called boom a wishbone (constructed from two booms), fin called skeg, windsurfing called boardsailing, rocker called scoop,"
""when you remember attaching boom to the mast by rope" - gee after 17 years of windsurfing, getting a clamp boom was such an improvement (23 years ago)!
You blame your gear ...so you buy new sh1t
Or the alternative is:
I guess I already have enough gear to rotate to forget that I have already blamed this one in the past
So.. , I try again without buying another one :)
Me either Windsurfing Hoarder or.. Windsurfing Connoisseur ?!
8 Windsurfing/windfoiling Boards
24 Windsurfing/windfoiling Sails

Got to keep Excel Workbook to keep track.
You are an Old Man only in the moment you sing the song that you are an Old Man.
I sometimes sing this Song on Local Shanty Singing Events around Seattle WA, USA.
Gee, I had no idea that it was written by an Aussie.
(my second Homeland is Australia, triple citizen now)
"Old Man's Song"
Words and Music: Bill Scott
Bill Scott, folklorist, poet, and author of books for children, was born in Bundaberg, Australia in 1923. He worked at many trades, including cane cutter, steam engine driver, miner, and publisher before becoming a professional writer in 1974. (GB)
When I was a young man I followed the gold
Down in a mineshaft all muddy and cold
Deep in the dark with the flickering light
And nary a nugget to gladden me sight
Chorus
And it's way aye now I am old
The mornings were silver the sunsets were gold
When I was a young man I followed the sea
Cold wet and shivering often I'd be
Rocked in the rigging or rolled down below
Or sweating me soul out where the gulf traders go
Chorus
And it's way aye now I am old
The oceans were sapphires the beaches were gold
Now I'm an old man I sit in the sun
Thinking and dreaming of the things that I've done
Remembering laughter forgetting the pain
And I'd go out and do it all over again
Chorus
And it's way aye lift it along
What good is your life if it isn't a song
Old Man's Song is recorded on the album Harbors of Home and is in the songbook Hey Rain!
When you need to use the theraband after each session to manage the tennis elbow pain...
.... or you have no idea what a theraband is or does !![]()
Quite a German language thing, but if a younger guy is asking you "darf ich Sie mal was fragen" instead of "darf ich dich mal was fragen", you really feel old ![]()
In English both translates to "may i ask you something", but in German that's a difference, at least at the beach.
Oh yes ![]()
Greetings from cold germany
