I tested the 375 with 160 stab (I prefer the more blocked feeling of this stab compared to 150) The day wasn't good, very gusty wind and about 20 knots on gusts, with 7.0 sail and Severne Hydro 79. It needs more speed to start flying, about 16 knots of speed, and is the biggest issue of this wing. The best points, is very, very stable in the choppy, obviously is faster than 450(with choppy, I made a few 10 seconds speed in more of 28 knots), and I made a few air jibes without problems; you need speed and agility, and don't waste time, but is possible and is very fun. I think I will use more than I thought.

Saludos!

Amazing wings!! But, I can't understand why the 400 is very expensive compared to the other small wings

Different construction, less profile thickness by same or increased stiffness.

I had a go on these foils the other day and they were awesome. I only tried the 550 front with the 160 stab in about 8-15 knots, but the lift and stability was so constant it was amazing. So much easier than the starboard and Phantom foils I'm used to. Now i just need to mortgage the house to buy some. :P

What starboard foil are you comparing it to?

Do you think that 550 has the same bottom end as the SB 725? I also have the starboard IQfoil but with the 1000, 800, and 650 front wings.

Went up against my mate on his newish aeon foil on my course race gear (100wide with hgo and iq foil). He was on the patrik 85 wide with aeon foil with the 750 wing on.

he was all but matching my upwind/downwind angles and speed.

i'm beginning to wonder why there are are other foils on the market

Not sure coz i only used the 725 once and it was fairly windy. I do know that the other guy that was with me when we used the patrik gear is an IQ Fouil coach and he couldnt believe how grunty the Patrik 550 was in light winds.

I've been on the AEON 650 while lighter mate has been on SB725. About 30kg difference and I'll carry 1.0-1.5m more sail. I'm faster but both fly as much as each other. We
arent super fast (23-26knts) but push each other for bragging rights.

I am in love with the 650 M wing, it just makes my foiling super easy. Here is a video about it

im looking for some feedback, as im considering ordering the aeon setup. Im around 98 kg currently riding a patrick 91 foil comp v2 with the iq 900 foil setup. Looking for something a bit easier to go fast with.
Im considering the following aeon setup:
- 95m mast
- 750m front wing ( looking for a similar up and downwind performance as iq 900 settup)
- 110 v1 alu fuse
- 195 back wing
- 550m front wing ( for slalom or a bit more wind setup )
- 100 v2 alu fuse
- 160 back wing

Would this be a good choice? I can ride the current setup well enough. Jibes are flying 90% of the time. Top speed on the iq was 24 knots.
Would i be better of with the S mast and titanium fuse and H wings? Does the 750 wing provide similar lift to he iq 900 or should i also go for the 900 patrick front wing? I still very much like the up and downwind aspect of foiling!
Any feedback would be much appreciated!

Is your VMG sailing in a windy or non-windy spot? Have a buddy who has, I think, the 900 for light/medium air (8-20 kts) vmg sailing. I can get his input if none of the locals chime in.

My local spot (lake) is light patchy/shifty winds from 8-20 knots (gusts). When riding on the coast its usually 12-18 knots sea breeze.
Any input would be much appreciated!

Message from my bud, coastal (river mostly plus ocean) sailor. Mostly VMG sailing. IQ Board, 8&9 HG sails. Formerly on IQ 900. About 75 kg. I confirmed he has the 900 and asked if he had a desire for a smaller wing. Should also note that because of concern for debris and sea life, he prefers up/downwind (ie over all lower speeds) in case he hits something.

"[smaller wing would be good] for slalom probably. I'm very happy with the 900."

Thank you for the info. Will have to choose i guess. Im heavier and if it works for him it should definitely also for me.

I have put in an order for the 900 110 v1 and 195, gonna use it with the 200 airinside. Nice to hear that the 75 kg can handle the 900. I was a bit worried. Usely I do slalom with 650 550 and 450 and the small back wings. Tried my iq gear for comparison and it is very dull to sail compared to the slalom stuff. Hopefully the 900 patrik will be more exciting. Will make a video about it at some point

looking forward to seeing that review. I currently use the iQfoil foil with a 1000 front wing and two cam freerace foil sails and thinking about switching to Patrik. I know that for racing it is the must have brand now but, is it much better than the other brands for weekend warriors doing upwind/downwind? What about take off? Much earlier than the iQfoil foil?

You'll luv the AEON with 900. It's super stable and unless you're a pro you won't be out sailing it. I'm 95ish and I also use the smaller front wings but the 900 in light wind is all smiles. Honkt up & down wind. Really deep & super tight up. Little swell rides and just floats. If you were sub 90 the 750 would work and sub 80kg 650 or 550. I'm happy on GT3 Foil 7.6 with all wings and on 5.6 sail too. Super slippery and can be pushed hard and keeps all it inherent good manners. Can't go wrong

So here is a video about the 900 wing with 110 v1 and 195 backwing. I'm around 82 kg and I just love the wing. Almost got it to 27 knots, crazy ??. My foiltacking mate who has the same setup says it is way easier to do foil tacks with the Aeon compared to the IQ so now pressure is on me to learn the foiling tack

Thanks, I haven't had time to sail them back to back, will try to so if time allows. I have only used the iq foil once this year but the Aeon feels more smooth and faster and this was backed up by my mate Frederic who has done like a million miles on the iq foil. He noted that on the Aeon you tend to get easier backwinded in the jibe compared to the iq, indicating that the speed relative to the wind is higher on the Aeon. Hopefully I can find time to go to ?rhus and sail against the iq fleet up there on a course and see how it holds up, but my time window is super narrow so can't promise anything.

Thanks for the run down. Every bit of info from course race windfoiling is appreciated, still my favorite discipline.

Okay, so I bought a used Patrik Aeon. The original owner bought it last November and realized it was too fast for him.
95m mast, 100 v1 fuse, 750 and 550 wings, and 190 stab. Really looking forward to trying it. I'm curious how different it will be compared to my IQfoil (115+ and 1000 wing). I will be using it with a starboard freeride 85cm wide board. I don't race but I like to point upwind. I know I need to try the setup, but do you think I will need the 110 fuse or the 900 wing to get similar light wind take off/upwind capability? I weigh 80kg.

I just apply some adhesive clear tape to the tuttle head sides, one-two layers usually do the trick. To be honest I really don't feel the difference when riding with and without it.
