Razz, it was truly epic. Clean solid ground swell @13sec with a light NE all day, the water was clear and the sun was shining.

Hey zuke i know i know hope you got waves...??

My spot up the coast last week was a good head height on 2/3 swell.................and it was ne yesterday wheras last week it was se....i couldnt stop thinking about it all day, I was thinking about stabbing myself in the eye with a pencil, putting on an eyepatch and turning into a pirate. Swashbuckling my way up the coast with my buccaneers and boarding barrel town for some looting and pillaging of mother natures finest funnels.....
Than i realised i was daydreaming and went back to thinking about surfing my secluded peak......
This occured on a rotational basis of three times am hour for a period of full work day.
Its best not knowing.....
Amazing how you can sense a ne when there is swell,,, I cant drive through the city without getting lost in a small town. But i can find the coast and waves hundreds of kilometres away when its pumping.

Sorry, no pics. It was one of those days that at the end of the wave all you were focussing on was getting back out the back before Huey punished you (and he did). It was 6-8' on the Legion scale.

Missed it by that much Captain..... at least you had a week off and must have scored something.

Clearly, there was no surfing done today, such a horrible day as it was here on the west coast.

But seriously, there had to have been some board carnage around. Any stories to tell?

I surfed Trigg for the first time in years yesterday. As I walked down with a mate I commented that I needed to get my small sucky beachie game together and switch on the crowd head as there was bobbing buoy every five metres along the whole coast.

We paddled out and I picked my spot on our peak. A few went through and were ridden pretty well by others. Some young guy snaked and hassled, but I sorted that out pretty quick by refusing to be his b****.

So a wave came to me. There was a bloke inside of me who was umming and aahing and who had a big section to make anyway. I made the call that: a) he was probably too deep unless he was real good, b) his refusal too commit meant he had no chance and was going to be late. Head down and off I went, eyeing off snaky bloke on the shoulder hovering to burn me. Grumpy head on and snaky boy has backed off, quick glance inside and deep bloke has given up. ITS MINE ALL MINE BWAAH HA HA HA!!! Paddle hard, went to stand aaaaannnndddddd.....

there was another bloke right underneath me. I dropped on top of him. It was as head on as head collisions in the surf get. Someone's board hit me hard in the leg.

After popping up I knew I had to paddle over and apologise with the old chestnut "Sorry ma-ate I dint seeya", hoping for a polite acknowledgement of my kookdom, but half expecting a mouthful, especially if there was board damage. Anyway, it turned out I had dropped in on my mate, the bloke on the inside of me had been waiting to see what he was doing before he committed and I should have looked even deeper again. SIGH...bloody crowded beachies...

On the plus side there was no damage to my friend's board. However I got what I deserved: an eight inch pressure ding that just crushed my bottom, a gouge right next to it about three inches long, and two crunches on the rail with the consistency now of a dish sponge. On inspecting the damage I was pretty much over it. Paddled back out, got one more wave - a really good long one btw - and then went in dejected, sat on the beach and waited for my friend to come in. On the plus side the view at Yello for the post surf coffee was pleasant.

Sounds like an opportunity for an Uber with roof racks for me....maybe less car park spots = less crowd, doubt it but its a nice thought.

Have seen how uncrowded the banks can be when not in front of the carpark entrance, maybe less car parks will do the same

Didn't see mocha1, didn't see Buster (surprising) but I did see a guy get at least a 5 second barrel. He's a good surfer, I've surfed with him before. Set wave, double arm drag on take off to stall, instant slot and stayed in there until out of sight down the bank. Made it too.

Oh, I thought I saw mocha1 last week though. Or your doppelganger. Same board and attributes that match your handle.

Sucks that the graphs have been recalibrated again. I've noticed they're out about half a metre compared to last year.

^^^^Agreed Legion, the graphs are exaggerating again. If you're off tomorrow there's a spot for you and it looks like it should be pretty solid.

weekend winter sunshine days generally means dont go near scarbs or trigg.
Suprisingly had 2 hours nearly to myself at mett's right.
Was all over the shot but hey, beats snakes, attitudes, duckdiving and wondering if you are going to cop a board to the head.
The occasional diamond in the rough came thru, lefts and rights.
Was like a washing machine today tho, didnt bother turning off the a/c

Au contraire. That stretch, with thumpiness, is usually void of takers. Those that do venture out don't usually last.
Last Sunday was most unusual in that regard, I thought. More out than I expected and some ballsy/stupid/wildly-entertaining attempts at taming horror sets Good to see, fellow sand-eaters. Now, back under your rocks.

Usually the first good bit of swell and offshore winds attracts the masses!

I lowered red the eyes and picked a spot out of the norm and had a fun session. Was a tad crowded but pretty good vibe.

Knew my game was not sharp enough for Scarb/Trigg!
