Cheers for your best wishes gentlemen. ![]()
I'll probably try and get into the pool now that the worst of the pain has gone (fingers crossed). we'll see how we go from there.![]()

wasn't to bad for Perth this morning, just north of scarbs,
Took the fish out, wish I had something with some thinner rails, but all good ![]()
By the way, got Margs Box with just me and my mate on Saturday, 4foot, while everyone was watching the comp, just incase anyone was interested...![]()
Had to do some work today down in Medina *shudders*
Knocked off around 2pm so quickly drove down to Secrets. Wasn't great but wasn't totally crap. Big enough sets coming through but the onshore was killing most of it. Just myself and a couple of other gnarly bras out so got a few really decent rides in.
Either way though...topped it off with a bacon and egg burger at the Secrets beach cafe. Win win ![]()
swell on its way by the looks of it
. I think its already at 4 m down south way.
be some serious surfers with big balls down there next couple days.
Went for paddle this morning. I thought I had a cunning plan, everyone would be at work early so they could knock off early for the holiday, or everyone would be on holiday. Wrong. Everyone was at Perth's favourite beachbreak as it turned out. Despite the lying graphs, it was a maximum of 1', but more often 1/2'. Shape was perfect closeouts. I got about 1/2 dozen waves, all closeouts. I watched other people catch waves, all closeouts. I watched people drop in on other people on closeouts. I listened to English backpackers in between closeout sets. What is it about backpackers around these beaches nowadays? There seems to be heaps of English and Brazzo backpackers when there weren't even a few years ago. Noosa, Bondi, ... Scarborough?
I hit up Cott reef this morning. Got in around 6.30 and stayed in for a few hours. Not too many dudes out, and those that were out, I was the fittest so I stole their waves ![]()
Pretty decent waves to be honest. Much better than the beachies. Some nice real long smooth banks around shoulder height.
The reef just south of the Cottesloe rock wall. Probably got another name, but that's what I call it.
It breaks in two distinct spots so crowds, although they can be bad, are usually manageable. People tend to go to the popular beach breaks before hitting Cott Reef though.
Well, that's my observation anyhoo ![]()
^ You would've loved it.
And let me rant once again about the graphs. How can they say it's 1m today and 1.5m yesterday arvo? Something's seriously effed up in the last year. A few years ago 1m would mean 4' sets at Cott and I'd be scared to paddle out at Trigg/Scarborough and no matter how good the banks it'd be closing out. Boards snapping everywhere. 1.5m would be all time. 5'+ sets at Cott and everywhere would be firing, even Leighton. Today, 1m swell at Cott meant a few horror 1' sweeper death sets at 2nd carpark. Seems even worse than last year.
I agree too, although i don't rely on the graphs to much...but the way there been reading lately is way out, what i've found is a 2 mtr swell on them its been 2 ft...4mtr swell is 4 ft etc,

edit: oh yeah, 1' 30+ out.
1/2' in Perth. Cams confirm it. Used to be 2.0m+ at Rottnest meant a decent 4'er over there. I doubt it does now.
