Agreed dude, maybe Seabreeze need to have a Logging room but I think i'd be pretty lonely in there... But hells, that new Mid length room would be paaaaaaaaaaaacked!!!

I think there should also be a separate room for Roy, we can call it the "Tyson Room" cos its all about beatings, beating off, banging on and crazy...

So what's a longboard, shortboard, mid length? And is a mal shape mandatory to count as a long board, or can a 9 footer have a blown up shortboard shape and still be a longboard?

Mal shapes only in this section of Seabreeze?

And what do all good loggers have in common?
a quiver of boards.

Logs don't work all the time, neither do LB so why not post other stuff that long boarders might be interested in riding?

If this was just a forum where people came to ask, I'm getting a new board what dims should I get and fin should I run I wouldn't be here, that **** is boring to anyone that has ridden one for more than 5 minutes?

Agreed with this original post.

I originally just browsed - then attempted to post about long boarding with a small response to these topics. People are more interested in banter between a handful of forum buddies than contributing to the content of the forum.

As a result of this I have up and moved onto other informative forums.

I still check in randomly to see what's cracking - for the most part it is nothing informative.

The idea was made in jest dude I think there's like 3 or 4 loggers in this whole joint...

And that's kinda the point, you don't come here for advice or info, it's purely for the banter... But it's also kinda ironic that Asea's thread about the the room not being about Longboarding also became not about Longboarding

Yeah your post was just a nice lead in to make the point.
The rest of your post nails it..

The focus should be on longboarders, what you ride where you surf etc etc

And If someone asks a question it usually gets answered by someone that knows pretty quick

Leashless/asea

you're right, we don't tend to talk much about longboards but there may be reasons for it, I can think of a couple:

> The subject matter lacks depth
> Self imposed silence on the part of many

In the case of the subject matter, we're riding boards with the same basic outlines as they have had for over half a century. some materials have changed, the weights have changed a bit, the rails are often more refined and variable from nose to tail, the fins have definitely gone through a major change and glassers of old could only dream of what is achieved nowadays. But they are still the same basic outline they were over half a century ago.

Example? leashless, you've just posted us a pic of your intended new sled from Bing, yes mate, she's beauty, but she's also a Velzy pig originating in the late 50s with a D fin. Granted, it's highly refined compared to an original pig, but it is a pig from the 50s, so how much more can we dwell on it?

In respect to the secrecy matter, there are many on this and every other forum who simply don't want to be know so they never post, they don't want to be know in real life, and it goes even further, they don't want their location or the locations where they surf to be known. They often don't even want you to know what their sleds look like, just in case they are recognized by it

I may not like some aspects of the silence, but their right to privacy must be respected.

After everything is taken into account in terms of the subject and the silence, all we have left is a bit of banter, so that's what we do. Some of the banter can get a bit repetitive and some can go too far (I'm often guilty in that respect), but at least it keeps us talking to each other.
