Swell picked up heaps with ankle to the occasional knee high bomb sets. Had a great time on the 666. Then the onshore kicked in bringing some waist high waves with it. I swapped to the tolly, geez longboards feel so good after being on a 666. Like your on a shortboard almost. Was funny in the end, a mate came out with his Tolhust & about an hour later a bloke with exactly the same board as mine. A tuflight Tolhurst, so we were like the 3 tolly amigoes...fun day

It's good to hear you're liking that Tolhurst Mick. Get it out in some bigger stuff if you get the chance .sounds like your day was similar to mine . Small waves but fun just the same

Good to hear you had some fun too mate...yes loving the tolly. I was thinking of surfing it on SE Bali reefs in a few weeks. It will make the paddle out a lot easier

It goes really good in bigger waves Mick. Try it especially over there

Roger that...I'm taking the whalebone over to get repaired. May as well slip the tolly in too. One shortboard should be enough this time of year for bigger days. But yeah I agree, the thin tail should hold in nice & the extra volume will help heaps if the currents pushing through hard. You've talked me into it, cheers

You won't regret it. Riding non log longboards in head high / overhead waves is way more fun then riding them in knee high ones. The early entry, easy speed and plenty of room to turn them properly on rail. Not to mention nose riding is heaps easier when you have a nice stretched out wall and heaps of speed.

I' rather ride a fish then a LB when it is tiny.

Yeah its good fun, the whalebone isn't a log & I've had that out in head to head & 1/2 heaps. Had the the tolly in just over head a couple of times. Today had the odd head high, good fun....frothing to see how it goes linking up sections out at Nusa Dua, hopefully see how it goes backdooring some barrels too

Had a knee blow up running last friday.
Think im right for a mal surf tomorrow.
Its not knee damage. Just running the wrong way and aggravated the patala and surrounding

Bob margetts has got me back on track walking correctly. might even develop quad muscles. Well. Maybe

Why would you want to be running backwards mate, usually faster going forwards.

Poor bugger in his mid 50's and just learning to walk. I can't surf if I could this weekend doc told me to take it easy for 3 days. Knee feels good with fluid around it.

Easy come, easy go...the swell that is. Got up early expecting it to be at least 1/2 as big as yesterday, like waist high. But nope, back to ankle to thigh high with the occasional over waist high bomb on the peak with a thigh high shoulder. So occasional I saw about 8 in three hours. Had to race home for the 666. Almost perfect for it, small clean light winds. Then swapped to the tolly when a few more people came out & the offshore picked up....Got some near cyclonic winds headed our way, so at least we should get a few waves out of that pretty soon
