You gotta love Surf-stitch..

Maybe a stupid question but not being a long boarder what is the benefit of a jacket Or is it just more the water temp is nice but wind cold

Or is it simply about the look

Mate I wear a 2mm jacket proud and loud like the short boarders do here, great for a slightly chilly morning and I've made it over a couple winters just with the jacket and boardies, love our weather

Why don't you wear a short or long sleeve vest with the zipper at the back, whats so good about these front zipper vests, the beavertail is ridiculous IMO used to only be on skin divers wetsuits years ago now its a trendy wank, like those buns they wear on the top of their heads-lame

A. Will do SP. There's a 3cm strip of what looks like maybe 1mm neoprene (thick soft spongy fabric anyway!) that sits behind the zip, and it's a quality zip, so I don't think it will be a factor. Might try for a little wave tomorrow.

and

B. Yep. Good call.

and

C. Either XL ain't what it used to be, or I ain't what I used to be. She's snug.

As it buckets down, and I contemplate my wet wetsuit, and my ugg boots are getting that stale, never quite dry smell that swells to fill the car between the start and end if the surf, and I have thermals on inside so I don't have the air con up too high, my hair is still wet from footy training, and the booster is on because we had no sunlight fall on the hot water system, all I can think of Macaha is fark off.

Quick update after a very short session in eensy waves:

Laying on zip is no issue, don't really notice it.

The tail is ..... gonski.

Happy with the wettie -- and with the unhip retro look.

Determined to see this thread get to four pages.

Funny thing is there is probably a hipster out there with a normal vest looking at that and thinking I could sew that on.

Cheers Mac. Hopefully Vanders has spoken with his style consultant Jas De King today and come up with something too.

Hey SP, Good thinking... could be a market out there for clip-ons. Could make some moolah out of this.

You could really freak the crowd out, clip it on the front using the studs and let it hang, more like a lap lap. Would be interesting to see if anyone tried to explain that your "Doing it wrong"

No weties really needed up north today, the walk around to Tea Tree in a jacket was like sitting in a sauna.
Jas's Nineplus looks the goods actually. He reckons it's really warm.
