nice start to my evening, thanks SMH
Someone had to . SP has been the clip man for a long time but has slackened off
Great clip, Chrispy. I know that's not uber performance surfing in modern terms but they are drawing timeless lines with power and grace. And throwing buckets. That's the surfing I like watching. Barrels are always cool.
Yeah +1. Great clips too chrispy n smh.
Russian and Korean cartoons welcome
Kids cartoons mate...
I don't Imagine the forum police would go for kids cartoons, LL got shot down for posting a LB video, ...

In the nicest possible way I hope your a big fat bastard or you might find yourself getting blown around a lot
Well, I cope pretty well with my 6'2" thruster version so I should do alright with this one.
Do you find them corky Tux? I've heard a few people say that.

Nah bro...but I wouldn't listen to me...some blokes love them
Looks like a great board, nice clean plan shape,Id ride it as a quad you'll have speed to burn, can't see those dimensions being overvolumed a great deal hope it goes well for you ,let us know the verdict
G'day
Well finally got the stick I've been waiting ages for just before coming back out to work. At 6'5" its by no means a longboard but from the little experiences I've had with it so far id say its a great short board for a longboarder looking for something they can throw around and pull out on those super hollow days that may be a little round for the longboard. I got this specifically for that purpose, Overhead kegs but unfortunately haven't got to ride it on a hollow day yet. When i do ill be right on here sharing my thoughts but until then ill share what I've found so far. I've been looking at something eggy for a while and to cut a super long story short ended up focusing on getting this thing.
What did i want? - So as mentioned, (whilst it doesn't look like it) i got this thing for hollow waves, over head height. I ride the 9'5" Involvement in good mal riding waves up to shoulder height a 7'10"Involvement/Lynch style mid-length in anything over that until i get into the big wave gun style of boards either a 6'10"single fin or 7'0" Quad and 7'2" Thruster for your good quality Indo/ Up North WA style waves (Head and a half to double over head). This board was to replace my 6'6" JS Kingpin which is the short board i would pull out for epic quality 4-6' surf (Over head to Head and a half). The JS whilst it was definitely one of the best boards I've ever had literally but it was getting a little tired and i was finding was feeling a little bit like trying to stand on a boggie board if going from the Mal one day to a short board the next.
What is it? - Lost Ezy-up 6'5" x 22 and a smidge" x 2 11/16'ish (45L Volume) I'm 6'3" and close enough to 100kg. Lowish profile rails considering the volume full along the stringer tapering down to the rail, slight roll on the entry to a gradual vee centrally to an exaggerated Vee leading to well defined Concave in the tail. The rails in the tail are low Hard and sharp. Quite a bit of Rocker for a board in an Eggy template with exagerated lift in the nose and tail kicks.
HOW's it go? - I have not got to surf it in good hollow waves yet
HOWEVER in the three surfs I've had on it I've managed to clock up about 9 hours on it so far 8 hours surfing quite heavy yet fullish 6' + waves and an hour surfing 4' fast crappy close outs. so the summary of how it goes as below.
* Duck Dives like a Mal - Not a great thing but to be expected given the template and volume.
* Paddles EASY and well , not quite like a mal but i reckon it paddles easier and quicker than my Mid length. Its a great paddler.
* Bloody Fast - Only ridden it as a Quad so far and the speed is ridiculous, this is a quick board considering its far from flat in the rocker profile.
* If you dont surf it on the rail it feel's really loose and skatey, with a heap of Pivot feeling localised to the tail extremities if that makes sense? I reckon that would be highlighted even more as a thruster set up??
* Loves to get the rail in. This thing is made for rail surfing, so I'm expecting it to be epic in hollow pits of Joy. Great on a late take off, feels really stable underfoot, very, very drivey and really accelerates with the turn when pushing hard on the rail yet transitions quickly and smoothly to the other rail without loosing any drive. I found this really surprising but very welcome as was the boards capacity to get vertical easily and comfortably. Ridiculously stable feeling descending from re-entrys or floaters with the board seemingly correcting itself into a stable position a couple of times where i thought id loose it for sure.
All in all first impressions are great, Its really responsive with out being too loose but it doesn't feel like it looks, to me it feels like "what id expect" a Hypto Crypto of the same size to feel like ( I've only ridden one that's too small for me) , it really isn't a case of "what you see is what you get" its really surprising to date. Really looking forward to getting it into something hollow next time home, so will report further then with better photos.
wow a eggy board for serious waves...Could you explain your reasoning. I love nearly all the lost boards. If i never owned a clearwater i would most certainly be riding a lost

I found going from my Long-boards to my JS Kingpin ( Which the Lost board replaces in my quiver) was sometimes a little frustrating in the transition and it felt like trying to surf on a Boogie board. I got the Kingpin in the first place because it had a little more area in the nose for a lot of boards at the time that were available and had a hard time trying to convince my local shaper to round out a template a little more on what i was riding (The Kingpin), which is what i really wanted at the time. I wanted some foam up front for ease of paddling and countering an at times "Heavy front Foot"
There were a few templates around that i liked but the majority were really quite flat in the rocker with a mid to full rail and pretty much purpose built for full or grovelly waves, i was quite specific about wanting aggressive bottom, some rocker and lower rails as both my longer boards have pinched rails, and big wave boards have low profile rails and my 6'10 single Fin has a medium profile rail with a spiral vee so wanted an easy transition from board, to board, to board but moving to a performance surfing style if that makes sense? As mentioned i also have a tendency to be heavy on my front foot at times from surfing singles a lot. I was looking for a Performance Egg, a performance board that could be surfed up the board if need be, not just off the tail, i knew that,i knew what i wanted but couldn't really find one or convince my local shaper that to shape such a thing was plausible.
When discussing my dilemma over post surf beers with some dudes in Indo, one of them worked as a glasser in the the states and he put me onto Matt Biolas and Lost boards which weren't even on my radar until then. Anyway everything along the lines of what i was thinking seemed to be for small grovelly surf, flatter rocker, fuller rails, small boards. This dude pointed me towards the Ezy-up. Checked it out, liked it in principle, looked for other things similar, drew one up.. back to the shaper, he wasn't convinced so didn't feel the love, then went to Lost Australia made some minor refinements from the stock dimensions and got this. It took forever but so far so good. Seems worth the wait?
Will see how it goes in the waves its intended for, but we'll have to wait and see??? Will report further when that opportunity arises
G'day
Well finally got the stick I've been waiting ages for just before coming back out to work. .....
Great report, Surf69. I've watched a couple of clips of Matt Biolos talking about his boards and surfing them. He knows his stuff. Hope you get the dream waves for it soon.

And after the tease.........it is what and by who what for what[ what 8D]
It's 6'1" x 21" x ?, made as a back up board for my Hypto, it's made by Nick Stranger. Basically I told him that I wanted a board I could just throw in the back of the ute and it would be a good all rounder.
Yeah CRF, he's still there and he's turning out some really nice boards, there's a lot of happy customers of his out in the lineups.
7' × 21&1/2" × 2&7/8"
Shaped by Matt Wilkerson who's from Hawaii but moved to Australia. Believe he was shaping for Bennetts while in Sydney and has now moved to the Sunshine coast and shaping at Beachbeat. Used to shape Larry Bertleman twin fins and fyi has done a run of wicked Bertleman twinnies for Beachbeat. He's also shaped bonzers for the Campbell bros (Duncan is in Hawaii).
The customer didn't like the colour on his new custom so I couldn't resist as I don't particularly give a rats arse about the colour. Though I do like this.
Only had a larger set of the bonzer side runners, a pair of knubsters and no "bonzer" centre fin so the Alkali 7.25" was closest but what the hell I'll ride it like this and see how it goes. The bonzer concaves aren't showing up in the pics but they are there.
Nice stick ! I saw a lovely Pavel Bonzer in a shop the other day whilst ordering a wettie. I asked the fella behind the counter what he thought of them - his response was classic "most under-rated fin setup in surfing" I really need to try one one day. Maybe next time I see Chrispy I will steal his one for a session or two. He would not notice with that massive collection he has
