Just seen the score SP - once I got past the excessive betting advertising - good to see Jamal has not lost his touch ![]()

The league is pretty dull after watching the mighty Chiefs vs the Blues. Skill levels and ball handling is next level.
Why is GI on the field still? He cannot even run.
I'm currently out this sounds like last year so what's the score
Agreed Ted..GI was hobbling around out on the wing most of the time...you'd wonder why...
Robbie just did his job well against his old team..he still is a quality player IMO.
But a much better team took the game...Some great hits by the Burgess Boys but Souths weren't up to the Tigers last night.

except for the line outs ..scrums collapsing ...kicking the ball out ...and the refs blowing the whistle for whatever reason ...& the lack of gaps from no 10 mtr rule ... if you put a stop watch on union for these breaks then you are watching players do nothing for 33% of the game ...yawn ..zzzzz.....
GI out for season with ACL ![]()
Yes bad news for all I wish he a great recovery so he can play on.
Yeah that sucks really feel for the bloke such an awesome player when injury free but last few seasons has looked at best 75 pcent of his usual form.i hope he comes back better than ever he deserves it.

Pretty sure that the last 200 odd games of league I have watched were one out one up. Tackle. Stop play. Repeat. And on the sixth we will kick. Then the opposition will do the same. And repeat. Open free flowing play is not something a league fan can claim ??????
i could mention the so called scrims....but that would embarrass you too much
But it would be remiss of me not too mention the chicken wing and other associated wrestling moves designed to slow the game down.......
Most have come from one man - who you could argue has ruined the game - or maybe he is should be rewarded for taking the game to the nth degree re the laws. Or we could compare the TMO to the Bunker - umm one takes about 4 times longer than the other. Why is that?
If you are watching Aussie teams with a lack of ball handling skills I can imagine your frustration. Watch the highlights of the Hurricanes game today. They run the ball from anywhere. Watch, admire and learn ![]()

Yawn away Bazza - 77 points in 80 minutes - watch and weep - how many tries came from kicks? Pure running rugby at its best. Don't be blind sided by the way the Aussie teams play and instead watch how the game is really played
The reality is that the ball moves across the paddock and everyone plays a key role. Kicks are used for sure - but the tries come from quick hands and ball movement - not a lottery kick because you have not thought about what to do at any other time during your previous 5 opportunities to do something. In rugby you have a crack from anywhere. If you have the skills and confidence.
By the way I do like watching league - its just frustrating at times as they have heaps of opportunity to use the ball but instead someone like Gallen gets it all the time and runs straight.....get creative. Have a crack. Its supposed to be fun and entertaining. Look at the Dragons tonight - for team that has barely an attacking bone in their body they had a solid crack tonight and came away with the chocolates !
Maybe if league shifted the emphasis to tries things would improve - 4 tries a bonus point - a try worth 5 points not 4. You have taken the initiative with the drop goal being only one point........but in how many games are the last 10 minutes (plus more in golden point) wasted as the battle for a stupid drop goal is played out. Boring as bat**. Encourage the boys to have a crack and score tries. Its like comparing watching G Boycott and D Warner in test match cricket - chalk and cheese !
GCT fans should all walk out at halftime, that was a very poor 40 mins, first round and a home game as well,no wonder the stadium is empty.

The thing with NRL Ted there are far less rules & everyone gets a crack with the ball...if you find scrums & line outs stoppages entertaining good on you ....NRL has a slow pause for the play the ball & its all on again ..NRL players are generally more fitter & hit harder .. as the game keeps rolling on...each to their own ..I played Union all my teens & prefer NRL these days as the Union scrum collapses etc are a pain to watch ...as for Gallon etc running the ball up you need to understand the technique's etc its about dominating the opposition...tying up players in the tackle to create space and quick play the balls ....a good front rower never gets put on his back in a tackle as it means a slow play the ball.. a good tackle is one where the ball carrier is put on his back...once you understand the game you appreciate it more ...have to admit Union has got faster as they have changed the rules to make it more spectator friendly ..and yeah I did weep at the TITANS 1st half...
