Rumor is correct, tomorrow pick up & possibly a few waves too if I can find a nice deserted beach somewhere.

I've stayed with the 2+1 setup, dion glas side bites & Shapers 7.5", just been marking off best positions on finbox. Had to stop trying all other fins was just confusing this old stompie, although as a quad it felt good.I'll revisit them in a couple of more 2+1 surfs. Hope you get a wave on it today.

Thanks for the feedback uncle.

Pickup has been delayed another day due to work commitments.

Finally picked it up today, waxed it up & took her for a paddle in absolute sloppy conditions, it was more just to see how it floated me and how well it paddled. A big thumbs up on both accounts. Now just need some time and better conditions to get to know each other.

Got her home, cracked a fresh home brew apple & pear cider and showed it off to the dog.

Yeah mate I got her wet, totally crap conditions but was really curious how she'd float me & paddle, pleasantly surprised on both counts.

The one wave I did get up on it felt like I was on a skateboard with only the back wheels on the ground, it felt really skatey but I guess it would coming off a 10' board.

I did manage to put a fairly good depression on the deck though, damm poor technique and dodgy joints.

Vanders, I had the same skatey feeling first time out on mine. I moved the side fins to about the middle of the finbox & the main fin back, gradually, & now it feels just right. Also more time on the board & you'll get used to having less 'nose" in front of you. How's the paddle though, good on the "old" arms, hey.

Good tips mate, appreciate that.

Yeah I was really surprised about the paddle, having never ridden anything under 9'3 the legs dragging in the water feels very inefficient though, so I was doing the old bent knees and crossed feet like I do on the LB. Don't know if this is the done thing but don't really care either.

Phew, vanders i only realised after i'd posted that Oldmal might be a mate of yours & that he was just revving you up. Anywho, yep Vman do the I'm cool crossed leg, at the ankles if you please, paddle. It really fk-ups the young guys & makes you feel like a "gremmie", word used before "grom" became the norm, again. In 6 mths time there will be a subx weekend in & around the Crescent area I reckon. Surf, beers, bbq smoke ahh I can smell it now.

That's the best idea I've heard in ages, I suppose we could let the other middy guys join us but they'll have to stick to soft drink.
