I think he just makes it look so easy. I think he still cares immensely and is one proud athlete - he would not want to be slipping down the rankings. Still the nicest surfer to watch I reckon.

Medina's dad wouldn't be too happy
Hopefully he's on suicide watch

Some insightfulness from the comments on Stab

Kelly Slater needs to focus on one thing. JohnJohn is now relegated to "safety turns" to ensure his World Title(can't say I blame him). GabMedina will be like by more people when he is older. Felipe is above the hate. Half of the tour could be smashed, by most hot surfers at any of our local. Wiggs is about to explode. If Wilko never does any thing again, he's done more than about 4 million surfers on Earth. Hey, look, Jeremy Flores is still on tour. It's his time of year again. Bye Dusty,....or another Hawaiian boost. Seabass too.

It's about to start in some interesting (quite hefty) waves.

JEALOUS: STRIDER STEALS MY GIRL’S LOOK!

The WSL's Strider Wasilewski had everything. Apparently everything wasn't enough.

Son of a bitch Strider Wasilewski. Son of a goddamn bitch. You’ve got everything. Attack dog tits that make even the most pumped up jail yard convict green with envy.

Traveling the world with the five best friends that anyone could ever have (Joe, Ron-Dog, Pottz, Ross and Pete).

Your home is an architectural masterpiece nestled in Malibu’s Point Dume.

Your company, Shade sunscreen, is seeing triple digit growth. But apparently “everything” wasn’t enough.

Son of a mother****ing bitch. You had to go off and steal my girl’s look.

I’ve been modeling myself off Ellen DeGeneres’s style for the better part of my adult life.

The blonde hair mussed just so. That natty, WASPy style. Quick mouth. Funky dancing. Shining personality.

She was my guiding light. My north star. But in one quick swoop you knocked me off my perch. I am no longer surfing’s Ellen DeGeneres. That honor belongs to you.

I hope you can sleep tonight. But if you can’t would you mind me asking a quick question?

Can I maybe be your Portia de Rossi?Just think of the figure we’d cut on red carpets around the world.

Oh sure your five best friends that anyone could ever have would burn with jealousy but they probably already do (your tits are truly phenomenal). We’d be the toast of Malibu!Just think about it

Stoked - just seen this. Had a phone hook up meeting this evening. I had $100 on JJF at $7 earlier in the season to win Stoked to see the trophy back in Hawaii instead of Brazo land as well. Its a shame for Adriano that he will probably go down as the most forgotten winner ever - he did a good job to win last year - but the King made sure it was forgotten with the release of his Pool Videos a few days later. Speaking of which I was gutted that I did not win the comp to surf that pool. Odds were probably longer than lotto anyway Wonder what KS will release in the coming weeks.............

Shame it was before Selfies Love to go to the NS - Rose dropped some friends off at the airport yesterday evening - who arrived there today - $350 return on Jetstar. We could not go as I have work commitments tom and next Tuesday that had already been locked in. They are loving it so far. Massive envy. Love to be there for the Pipe Masters one day. That is on my bucket list.

Stoked for JJ A true champion and well rounded waterman....not an Aussie but Hey, we love Hawaiians way more than Zillas :) .

My Young bloke is also a JJ Fanatic and it was hard settling him down to sleep tonight, More stoked for JJ than he is for himself after comming second in the week end Junior Series final and taking third overall for the series on the weekend....but nah irrelevant to him JJ world title is all that matters...funny little grom.

Nice conditions. Chicks are up now - this should be interesting. Wow - they all just got cleaned up by a good sized set ! Some good smashing happening here. These ladies are not afraid. Hats off to them. I must say though I am enjoying watching them get smashed

Two of them are off to hospital - heavy. Chicks look like they are constantly out of position. Need some of the other fellas in the lineup to help them out.

Three ended up in hospital

In hindsight I'm not sure what surfers like Laura were thinking..Knee injury could see her out for a little time

She loves the big stuff and I'm tipping it's a second career path for her...unless something changes she probably won't win a world title so why not be be the worlds hottest free/big wave surfer...its worked for Alana
