Yeah don't worry mate I've been jealous with your resent trips taking In The Pink should be a good board from what the guys over there have been saying,I can always hire a 11 or 12 footer if required but it south shore time of the year.

Mate I hope you recover well and soon from that bug you have, perhaps its time to move to warmer parts

If there was ever a time you'd wonder if a board was too good to be ridden & should be hung straight on the wall as a piece of art. Well this could one of them

Thanks for the nice complements on the board. What size fin are you running as a single SA in the 11 footer. They set mine up with a nice racked back tracker 9 inch fin, I've heard 8 inch go well ?

Consistently ride my 11'8" Josh Hall with an 8" Greenough 4A = plenty of fin for these boards.
The board does have the 2+1 option but unless it's overhead it's a pointless exercise IMO.

Once the rail is engaged an oversized fin just gives the board too much of a tracky feel. Mind you my 'glider' style boards are very parallel railed and nothing like Macaha's McT so a curvier outline will probably react more positively to a larger fin depending on the waves it's ridden in.

During the same session I was swapping boards with my mate who was riding my 11' CC with only a 7' Greenough 4A. Keep in mind that the CC is a faster and more maneuverable style board, it just went amazingly well in the 3ft surf we had on offer.

So from my experience if your looong boards are very parallel railed, use nothing over an 8" fin and let the rail do the work.

I only intend riding it in the months between Nov too Jan up north,Waimea on the big days out at 3rd reef.

Oh hi oldmal, I was told when asking those questions, southern points in very uncrowded midweek days, which
is very limited so I'm not planning on wearing the thing out in a hurry

As proven by our current state of origin team we are soft in QLD,so midweek winter 20 degrees the water is empty
