So what's actually your point macaha, you don't want people to surf but you get up set at the prospect of the beaches being closed.

My views on this are,we don't want another restriction placed on us and by people posting images adds to the fire of a total beach closure.
None of my family have not been effected by means of lose of work but many others have and I believe it rubs salt into a wound with people treating this as a extended holiday,

Really? Come on mate, I really don't think there's too many people visit these forums other than those that like the sport. I'm one of those people that have been stood down so I know what it feels like, but I really don't care if Johnny is surfing as long as it's done within the law. Posting a photo isn't going to close a beach, media propaganda on the other hand may.

Yeah as I said I feel for all those businesses forced to close and their employees out of work, I surfed 2 weeks ago and did not enjoy it at all, trying to enjoy while others are suffering is not me. Here are a couple of screenshots from our paper.

What's the deal? You think blasting people behind a computer screen is going to shame them into staying home out of the water? Your starting to sound a lot like a misery loves company kind of guy. You want to be a martyr, then pat yourself on the back for the sacrifices you are making and stop tyrimg to drag others down with you.
I cannot stress this enough, people are going to decide for themselves what they are willing to risk. Let them decide and stop being the moral police. Especially when you are dropping eff bombs cause I doubt you would do it in their face.

If you read the author of the the topic's question" Whats your thoughts on surfing during the pandemic" I'm giving my view, which obviously you don't agree with or was it the delivery. Delivered with passion btw. If I shame one people to rack their board well I'm happy with that.I'm not blasting anybody behind a computer Aceman just stating we all need to do the right thing as the health authorities have been telling us for weeks and more than happy to say it face to face. Moral police lol, perhaps if more people thought about others during these times we mite come out of this quicker.I can't stress this enough !

You're Right Macaha about STAY STILL..STAY HOME .
With working health sector , the feedback from Ambo's is things are quiet. Their call outs have dropped significantly, genuine health issues over accidents and stupidity. So it's having a great effect
STAY STILL...STAY HOME...STAY SAFE...
The sooner we all do, break the cycle, the sooner we can get back hassle free into the water.

Lots of interesting thoughts being shared on this topic. I think pretty much everyone is unified on the fact that we should follow the government's advice and that is the most important thing in my opinion.
To those who say we shouldn't surf even if we have our own local beach and we can find a quiet spot and maintain a few metres distance, I would like to point out that while you think you're being better than everyone else you are actually contributing to the confusion that makes people do the wrong thing. In Vic we have been told it's ok to go surfing so long as we maintain a couple of metres distance. By expressing an opinion contrary to government and police advice, you are actually creating disunity with the government and people start to do the wrong thing in other areas as the advice is muddied. To actually become abusive to someone who is acting completely within their rights is not helpful. I hope you don't take your agressive attitude into the surf.
To those who say we shouldn't surf as it's not fair to those who can't, I'd like to point that we do this all the time. Should I not eat because someone is starving, should live in the street because some are homeless ....do you stop surfing when your mate is injured and spends his morning watching from the car park? Sorry, makes no sense to me. When I'm out of the water I don't expect everyone else to suffer.
To those who tell us how it is in their country, I thank you for helping us understand what's going on around the world but of course you shouldn't be telling us how to behave in Australia. We have our own government for that.
To those who say they felt guilty when they went surfing and gave it up I'd say yes of course you should stop. No one should do what they think is wrong. However don't put your feelings of guilt onto others. I don't feel guilty going for a surf, so I will be.
To those who post pictures of beautiful spots that they are surfing safely and away from others, thankyou! It's a little bit of joy in an otherwise pretty dark time.
Stay safe, stay local and see you in the water.

ALL Beaches along the Bass coast in Victoria will be closed completely, no access to anyone under any circumstances, no walking, no swimming, no SUPing from midnight thursday until midnight monday. Why? to stop all the city weekenders coming down....
A lot of waves will be going to waste!!!

It had to happen after the other weekend's madness. Even 20-25 at one break on Sunday , I still managed to surf both days on my own.

Risked crossing the treacherous beaches of Bass Coast for an OC1 paddle.

Felt like I was breaking the law to start with, but once I got in to it body and mind felt a lot better.

Fingers crossed beaches stay open here, I am just doing dawn (almost pre-dawn) little blitz sessions at the moment, picking the least crowded stretches (still possible over here) which is meaning crappy waves but you take what you can get, any cake in a famine.

I get in a little session then bail back home and shower etc..mentally sharper, more resilliant for the day and have had a bit of exercise.

I respect the regional exclusion laws preventing people travelling into other regions - just an extension of the isolation theme.

Roll on winter when people will naturally not congregate on the beaches, hope that means beaches open in Vic for all the Vic based breezers, missing winter waves along that coast would be a hard pill to swallow.
