O.k i better hold off on that new downwindboard and get me a foil racer. With a down wind board would you have two foils on at the back one at the front?

andrew, at training this morning we were talking about it- very exciting development. in the open class as it stands looking at the new rules- why not. one thing with that guy surfing it- he's not attached to the board and it was mentioned if he comes off the wrong way the foil could cut him in two
cheers
ps it sure be fun to foil past a top paddler, but i'm dreaming

Exciting stuff i rekon if it could work on a downwind board. You could rack up a few Ks pretty quickly i guess.Whos going to be first to try it?

Have a look at some of the other videos earlier in this thread. The Norwegian guys on that foiled canoe show where the possibilities are for foiled downwinders. Also take a look at that French sailing team setting the speed record in their foiled machine.

Wow, have we got interesting times ahead - maybe the multihulled foil would be easier to control than a mono?

If anyone has tried normal "tow foiling" you will appreciate what an accomplishment this guy on the SUP has made. What he is doing is extremely difficult. Great stuff!
