Let me guess.it's the most amazing board on the planet ,but you can't tell us any dimensions or anything thing about it ,but we have to pre order now because they are going fast and you'll miss out.

Hahah not quite. The stock is landing next weeks so once information, pics and dimensions are released they'll be sent instead of saying something's coming but you have to wait.

should we start the over-under betting pool on how far back the boxes will be? V1 was a full 6" too far back even in the most forward position, V2 is only 2-3" too far back.

Of course it's both... and the boards arrival in Oz is subject to a random event that may or may not occur.

He's calling it the Schr?dinger V1

Hopefully there will be a GoFoil model with boxes right at the tail and a rest of the foiling community model with boxes in the correct place

Jondrum, are you riding a custom foil ?

Most guys and girls on Maui are not needing to be all the way forward in the box on any brand of foil on the V2

I doubt it. Probably just another paddler who doesn't understand that the design centers around, both the center of mass and buoyancy, of both V1 and V2, being significantly more rearward than any other brand. This negates the need for most paddlers to be so far forward in the boxes and create such an prohibitively long tail. But more realistically just another stirrer with nothing better to contribute.

I own and rode a V1 8' for hundreds of sessions and a V2 9'4" for dozens of sessions. The V1 the boxes are very clearly much too far back. I rode Axis, Code, AFS. The worst is Axis with an advanced fuselage. Even with the mast slammed forward in the boxes, I have to stand ~10cm forward paddling up to speed and then shuffle back at just the right moment to get over the foil.

The V2 is better, but the boxes are still a bit too far back by a ~5cm. Still have to do the foot shuffle as the foil engages. I don't ride Axis anymore, but the axis advanced fuselage would be worse by another 4cm.

No, I'm not a stirrer with nothing useful to contribute. I actually know these things from experience. I really hope Kalama fixes the box location because he makes amazing boards.

V1 was the first downwind foil board available and changed the industry. That's was 3 years ago. As foils and R&D have changed so have the boards etc. I can 100% tell you the boxes are further forward again than from V2.
I took this photo of a pre production next to a 8'8 V2. Tails and nose aligned.

James with his massive long boxes is still a shuffler from memory and Oskar is not. James was surprised that Oskar doesn't shuffle so go figure.

I am interested to know what happens when you put your foil in the front of a V2 box and perform the Kane balance test what happens. Your nose is still down somehow?

I like the fact both versions plane off the tail and are balanced both in weight and foam rearward. It took me a while to just accept that and to stand back but reach forward when the time comes. It worked amazing for this old punter as I stopped pushing water with the nose rocker. 7'8" V1 and 9'0" V2

I think we are all different but i am intrigued as to where your feet are on the V2 when paddling?

My point was your experience is different from others. The others I am referencing in Maui are regarded as some of the best in the world at DW foiling.

I beg to differ that you are not a stirrer. "should we start the over-under betting pool on how far back the boxes will be? V1 was a full 6" too far back even in the most forward position, V2 is only 2-3" too far back."

Looks a bit different to your last response?
