Verdict on new mast?
The original mast is very good this is a refinement. A little faster, turns better, smoother and glides further with the lower drag.
By original, do you mean v1 or v1.5? The goofy gofoil version numbering!
I recently bought one of gofoil's discounted leftovers for v1.5 to upgrade my v1 surf foil mast (27"). The goal was more stiffness for pumping, the 1.5 is quite a bit thicker and wider chorde. My first session on it, I was shocked at how noticable the extra drag was from the thickness. I got used to it after a few waves and then it's the "new normal", but it was surprising at first. So, if v2 offers the same stiffness with less drag, that's a win.
