Good one, the dyneema looks great. Do the lines sag much when you open the boarding gates?

No mate the forward and aft lines are independent and lashed forward and aft.

ah good, so there's enough rigidity in the stanchions to resist the sideways pull.

Yearly birthday!
Can't say I did the work though.

Still a few things to fix.
Always had annoying tooth on the wheel gear that was slightly out of alignment so new gear getting made.
Backstay ram shaft getting replaced as pitting was damaging the top seal.
Friends in low places managed to get me 5 cans of VC offshore otherwise unobtainable right now. ( at a price rather than me confronting changing antifouling type)
Top work, Jason from JSA Marine, 4 days out, all done otherwise, like new for another year.

Yep
One of the last ten built.
Or as we sometimes refer to it as "the Corolla"
Does nothing well, nothing badly, cheap to run and cannot be broken and you sell them for what you paid for them.

I haven't done anything get. Had the mast removed for a full re-rig. New boat. Cavalier 32.
my job tomorrow is to glass around where the mast goes through the hull. Someone did a dodgy job there before and I can pull off the layers of failed glass fabric I'll redo it all.

A bit of glass work. Will see how she turns out tomorrow.
Glassing on the ceiling is a bit tricky.

Had the old girl out for a scrub, a bit of caulking, antifoul and back in. 18 months since last shave and a hair cut.

Good one. At the risk of repeating prior comments while the mast is being re-rigged suggest remove all stainless fittings to check for galvanic corrosion underneath. If there is any at all rectify it suitably and re-fasten the fitting with appropriate monel or stainless rivets or stainless metal thread fasteners, also ensuring that the fitting and the rivets / fasteners are liberally coated with Tef-Gel to provide the corrosion barrier. Assume you will re-paint the mast with 2 pack polyurethane - 2 coats over an etch primer coat or 2.

Thanks. The rigger is doing that and appears to be doing a good job. Unfortunately the spreaders were straight into the stainless master connector bit and they are having a hard time separating.
removed and replaced the diesel fill line. The old one had completely perished. Shudder to think what is at the bottom of the tank but it's a bit difficult to access the drain.

Looks terrific Southace! Any future owner will be getting a great yacht - Icon is extremely well sorted and good looking IMHO.

I'm not sure Allan. as I got it for free and had it machined out to fit, the yacht will come with the original wheel which is twice the size of the one I have currently fitted but I really don't see the need for such a big wheel they previously fitted.

New main sail, new selden boom with single line reefing and selden rod kicker getting fitted in the next week or so! Someone will get a good yacht with all the bells and whistles thrown in! My loss again!

Sort off! New smells nice but not as strong and personalised.

Every cruising yacht needs a Carbon fibre steering pedestal!

The cast aluminium pedestals get a lot of corrosion due to disimular metals, mine is Edson , some of the screws below the compass was well seized. The wrap is just a nice cover up rather than painting. It will be intresting how long it lasts. At least it breaths not like the painted surfaces.

Sometimes I have to ask myself am I a bit eccentric? Strange? Think outside the square or just make do with the ingredients I have in front of me!
Anyway what ever it is another job complete take it or leave it!
I love boats and work!

I owe Seabreeze sailors a thanks. My yanmar was start / stopping yesterday so after checking the primary filter I cut in a priming bulb pump on the inlet side of the cav filter just outside the diesel tank. This allowed me to slightly pressurise the fuel system and showed small leaks on the hose line to the injectors. Quick tighten and prime using new priming pump and done. Cheers guys.

Coming up two years since relaunching.
Antifoul standing up well for that time.

there is obviously a big advantage on maintenance keeping your boat in a refrigerator i have never seen micron perform that well here

More the fresh water than the micron.
The power boat has gone 5 years before an antifoul.
Sits in fresh water in the kermandie river then you go out into the salt water in the channel.
