good as gold, purchased about 8 kites and two boards from them over the last 3-4 years. email them with what you are after, the price is normally less than the quoted price on the webpage, less tax etc
can't beat buying local imo, i go to a good local shop and pay for service.
it may be a little more $$$ upfront but it builds a relationship, which can be priceless especially if new to kiting.
just gotta be lucky to have a good kite shop in your area i guess (i travel 2 hours to mine, so not super close).
hit up your local for a deal, because to them a happy customer is a return customer...
(geez, i should be working in retail!!!) ![]()
Kite- line are awesome. I have bought 2 kites, a bar, and a board from them over the past couple of seasons and intend to buy more stuff next season. Prices usually mean a saving of at least $400 per kite for current season kites. I got sent a 4 line bar instead of a 5 line bar by mistake and they gave it to me for cost - a $580 bar here for $225..... and I had already changed my mind and wanted the 4 line anyway!!. I was so wrapted I bought a board as well... a $1000+ board for $770 delivered to my door. Aftersales service is second to none
Unless they are coming up with cheaper deals than they advertise, the prices don't look that great on that site. Especially when you add tax and shipping. Give the local shops a go, it's the end of the season, they should be cutting some deals. Contact a few shops. You need to talk to the owner for the best deals, not the kid working in there on the windy days. ![]()
Thanks guys !
I really would support everybody but right now who needs support is me, Im extremely poor person, so I have to find best price, for me these prices seems quite cheap or anybody knows any better place ?
Basicly what Im after is North 2013 full gear, kite, bar, board, straps, bag.. evo10, jaime136..
let the wind be with you !
If you are extremely poor, you don't need 2013 gear. Have a look at local dealers, you can find some good deals on previous year models or ex demo.
I would explaine myself with saying: ?I'm Not Rich Enough To Buy Cheap Things.? ..what u can maybe not fully but sort of relate my idea
what I wanna say is, that when Im going to buy latest stuff, ofc its going to be higher on its price as it is on demo or year older gear but once i wanna sell it, i can get better price..
..im not after makeing business but i think u get the point.
ofc ive considered two of these options, got told that actually theres not much difference betweet last and this year kite, specialy maybe for me, for beginner
u got cool profile pic zarb
To be honest mate, contact any north dealer with the kites you want at this stage of the season and I am almost certain that you will get a great price.
Support your local.
You can get a good discount locally during winter sales and end of season stock take sales.
I noticed the shortcut icon in my web sites favourites for Kitepower and Kiteline are the same. I am pretty sure there is no company connection but I wondered, what is the significance of that symbol?

Maybe hit refresh on ours, it should come up with the KP logo, otherwise your browser is detecting the type of platform that runs each website, and the symbol represents that platform/software.
Definitely give the local shop a go. Kite-Line is not supposed to sell North or any brand that has distribution in Australia, to anyone who lives here. Anyway I'm sure you can get a very similar deal here in Oz, try Briskites, Adrenalin Rush, In the Loop, Kite Republic, AKS or any of the bigger North dealers.
Or better still try your nearest KP shop and ask about other brands 2013 closeout package deals, and save even more money!
We both use the Magento shopping cart software :)
Always call up a local dealer first, they will almost certainly do their best to get as close to a quote as possible.
found all these places from web and sent them letter..
..well, have to admit that my adventure going to have start from philippines, so i thinking about ask from there aswel about price
thanks for all you and let the wind be with you !
Don't forget imported items will be taxable once over $1000 (postage inclusive).
Something else to factor into the o/s price.![]()

Lets break this comment down a little:
'Found all these places from web and sent them letter'... Euro tightarse looking for cheap gear but will not support shops in Australia because our prices dont suit their weetbix and 2 min noodle budget. waah waaaah
'Well have to admit my adventure going to have to start from Philipines'.. Going to send money overseas in order to buy kite bargain from country where they cannot track shipments or even have a legit business. This will result in backpacker dissapointment when shipment is 'delayed' or doesn't even turn up. Oh my you will cry if I told you the many scam kite websites which I know of.
I say go for it!!! or you could save yourself the ball ache and go buy from a reputable shop who provides customer service and some sort of warranty. Euro's are renowned for breaking and abusing their gear and then bringing it to the shop to complain. I have seen it many many times in my time working in kite shops and instructing.
Anybody knows anything about this site ?
safe ?
You should totally use western union as they provide a full refund for kite gear.
Hey guys who sayd that u have already ordered from there, what about shipping price ?
shipping is free if you speak with Mr Ken.

I agree surfingboye. Seriously if you develop a relationship with the right retailer they will look after you in terms of price. Service of course but price to. Show your commitment over a few years and a decent retailer with a reasonable head on their shoulders will save you more money in the end.
That's how I see it. Don't rob Peter to pay Paul because eventually you will pay more. Hey that farqin Rythms.
And if ya retailer isn't looking after you ....CHANGE

This may sound a bit presumptuous - but you sound a bit... not local. So maybe from that point of view you have less invested in the Australian Kite scene, don't care about local retailers, and honestly just want to kite here, take what you can, pay the least amount possible, then go home at some stage. And that's fine. People are free to do whatever the hell they want and lots of people buy overseas.
But with the dollar the way it is you'd be better off getting a good deal from a local dealer. I was dead set on buying kites overseas but found that the deals just aren't that much better and making relationships with local dealers will get you a hell of a lot further in terms of price and service. Especially if you are new.
Buying local has a number of benefits: 1) you're not being a selfish taker 2) you're forging relationships with local dudes that will help you actually buy proper gear that is suited for you 3) you can go back to them if things aren't working out or anything goes wrong.
All that fails, by all means, go buy your gear in the phillippines! ![]()
Declaring as a gift will not always work. It's 50/50 most of the time. People at Customs are not idiots.
thanks for everybody, im going to delete this now, hopefully i see some of u start of the new year in perth !
let the wind be with u !

,
But don't forget your items will be tax free at sellers end so if say from the UK its - 20% so if its over $1000 you pay gst so still 10% cheaper on an already much cheaper kite, if your buying one kite its generally under so no charge here plus most ship free, if your gears marginally cheaper then go local , I've a mate who owns a shop in the UK so that's why I shop with him, but he laughs at what we pay here, basically we or our local shops are getting ripped by a distributor, making it hard for them to compete with OS companies which buy direct, its not just kites its all products, carnt get my head around this, I bought my dad in the UK a carton of little creatures pale ale delivered to his door &15 cheaper than what I pay at my local bottle shop, work that one out?![]()
Agree cauncy. When the prices are fairly similar (like the kites I bought), or if I am buying something in which local support is beneficial, I will always try to buy local. But in some circumstances if the price difference is absolutely absurd I will look overseas. I am after-all, not a charity.
Case in point, outdoor or climbing gear. I can buy a lightweight climbing winter tent here at Paddy Palin for $800, or overseas for $250. I can buy a sleeping bag here at Kathmandu or Mountain Designs for $600, or I can get a better quality brand from overseas for $175. Some of the differences are just stupid.
The more we buy online from anywhere but you local stores the less service our local stores can provide and the more expensive kite gear gets in Australia... It all about economies of scales if you want reasonable prices support Aussies shops... I love walking into the two scarborough kite shops, have a chat and WOW you can demo a "brand new" kite or board.. How cool is that.. Incredible sales tool that my business in construction would never give.... I have no affiliation with any kite company but have never paid rrp from either shop.. So my hubble, worthless advice is don't google, don't ring, walk in to a real shop talk to a real person and still get a screaming deal in Aussie dollars..
So just as I go to press "post" I realize I also go to safety bay and there are 2 shops there I have bought my latest gear from.... So how lucky are west Australians we have choice of real shops that offer choice and service.. Then there are shops in Leederville, osy park, geraldton , exmouth...........
aussie stuff like griffin kites, carboards and ikon kites... I, like all of my west Aussie friend are struggling on $300k a year but I still want to walk into a kite/ surf/sup shop and kick some tyres ....
Rant over ... By the way "eastern stater" we all don't make $300k over here ![]()
The arguement shouldnt be about shopping local, surely wed all go to them if we could afford it and not worry about the difference, its the fact that we are paying a lot more for our gear, just done a quick search for example kite from uk rrp after conversion and shipping which is free is $ 736 cheaper than rrp here, imo its one of the main reasons we dont see many young rider here as compared to europe which means the longevity of the supply will suffer if the kids carnt afford a set up, i have a mate here that owns a shop and carnt buy a kite for the same price off his distributor, as what an os customers told him they pay, that isnt good imo, so why before laurie shuts this topic down, do we pay a lot more for our gear here,
