Thank you Tim and all the volunteers that made the race happen! Great fun and glad we were able to get the race off last minute! :)

Great race, really well organised. My first time in this event - I would love to do it again. Its an adventure as well as a race. I was very happy just to finish.

Some twintips were really fast. The surfboard (Nugget) worked well for me. Doing some kiting at Leighton before the event was definitely a plus. I can't believe how good Perth beaches are for kitesurfing, its a fantastic setup and the local crew were very friendly and helpful.

Next time I hope to do a downwinder along the beaches and kite at Lancelin & Geraldton too.

Here's my write up and photos www.peterskiteboarding.com/2017/12/my-race-in-2017-lighthouse-to-leighton.html

Yeah, I did notice a big lens pointed at us from the finish boat, it would be good to see some of those shots.
It may have just been used to confirm finish order but still be good if they were posted.
I did the race the first few years and there were shots from choppers and quite a few shots whilst underway at full speed.
Most of the on the water shots this year were as people slowed down to come into the beach.
Doesn't seem like there is as much coverage these days, even the video I saw was very brief.

Yes, the big lens is generously provided by ace yachting photographer, Bernie Kaaks, and is for recording finishers, as distinct from 'art form' shots of racers.

As for 2017 images...
