ok, second try... the last attempt would have got me in trouble with the new Ozone converts up here.

not mad on the Zephyr, old or new. there... said it... bring it on! for MY style of riding the edge ****s on it is a bit better....

its probably better in the waves, and for unhooking, but as i see it thats it. So No HAAK no zephyrs for sale.

hey Gokid, every kid, (makin an assumption here), should try a 19M edge at least once... that said, my son hates it, but its pretty funny to watch!

sorry Epps, when i kark it, they gonna wrap me in my 19m and flambe the whole lot!

Hey T one ,I am a bit of a kid just in an old body,my biggest kite I ever owed or tryed is a 12m,thinking about getting a big kite, would love to try a 19m edge, will ask around when Im back in Oz

... thats all cool, but looking like your in the minority there dude, I suppose beauty is in the eye of the beholder anyway!

If only they made a 19m Zephyr, I'd be customer number one. In fact Eppo is right, they should make other sizes.

My predictions are the future Edges will feel more like the Zephyrs, with better bar feedback and static grunt, but its so hard for designers because when you increase performances on one area you loose on other and when you think you've got it all balanced, its sorta bland!

Anyway,

cheers,

Robbie

Well it seems we are in the minority on this. Most said basically I was nuts and go and fly a catalyst. Ha ha ha ha

Well too late, had to eat in another pasture.

Don't worry ozone have no intention of zephyring the edge, ya safe tony.

Hey if ya really worked the zephyr out you could unhook and not have ya son give you so much sht. Ha ha

Edges will always be race .If you lower the aspect of the edge to the like of the zephyr to create static grunt then it will loose upwind ability in where the edge reigns supreme! Zephyrs are awesome free ride kites...and are easier to ride ,but the upwind speed of and edge does it for me and the boost of and experienced edge rider vs an experienced zephyr rider. The edge will edge out the zephyr in that department too.

Ian, Surely the swell can't be 7-10 m? Is that right?

I went out last night at Nene Valley. 30+ and double over head. Only last 15 minutes - TOOOOO good for me.

Forecast bigger tomorrow and Sunday.
My son is coming home for the weekend, 5 hour drive one way. Might get some pic's (windsurfer)

Good points. You've ridden the 2013 right for your comments above ?

There's more also more to the actual boost, it is the type of boost as well. It is how it flies when in the air. The edge takes a level of concentration, the zephyr is a no brainer and much more consistent in its pull to do other stuff while you are up there. The upwind ability is superior on the edge for the same variables but not as different as some might seem. You gotta slow everything down on the zephyr which in turn does create a wider window, but yes the edge is the edge, don't change it and ozone won't, I agree. But I will say it again they lack something between the cat and the edge (the rebel is a huge seller for a reason).

Nene Valley was too big and dangerous so we had to find a quieter spot. Waves were a lot smaller but still a solid 35 knots. Thank Christ I was on camera duties.
9 meter swell tomorrow. Me thinks it's a waste of time even going for a drive.

In between fronts and sets.

That's at a spot we call "where ya park ya car" (car park between Orwell Rocks and John's Joke)

A lot of thought went into naming that spot.

You probably windsurfed the spot back in the day.

All the reef breaks between the Lighthouse and Nene were way tooooo big & powerful.

Sometimes you just have to know your limits, this weekend has been one of those times.

A fair bit of noise in these extreme condition, not very clear. Your lens would of be the go.

Nah it's not just you. 10 degrees with a wind chill factor of +1. But I wouldn't have it any other way

3/2 wetty is usually enough. Although 5/4 would of been a better choice yesterday.

G'day E,
Yeah this weekend was spooky.

Glad you had fun up there. 3-5ft in Adelaide, I think you are having me on

Yeah the valley is a nice spot, too big and powerful over the past few days. All the big seas of late have eroaded the sand hills away a bit. The beach is a bit of a mess, but that will clean up with some high tides.
