You boys ever heard of txt message

Whats this TXT thing you talk about

Must admit i thought it was becoming a bit like days of our lifes a few days ago.

You must forgive us, we seem to get a bit excited this time of year.

I blame Surfer 62, he shouldn't started this thread.

Anyway, catch you boys up there.

10 more sleeps

I'd tell HAAK and Robbie to get a room but I wouldn't wish that on anyone, I've shared a room with HAAK and I'm still getting counselling

Anyways back on topic, how's the wind ?

Hi guys,

to introduce this new kitesurfing spot just across the Bali Strait from Bali, we are organising a FREE kite camp on Tabuhan Island in Banyuwangi. The dates are Saturday August 09 and Sunday August 10.

Tents and bedding will be provided. Free local food. Free mineral water. Beach barbecue. We will arrange the transfers from Banyuwangi airport or from Ketapang ferry port to the location.

Tabuhan Island is a little island laying in between Java and Bali. We have wind between May and the end of November. I would call this place the Tarifa of Southeast Asia, because the trade winds get funnelled between the island just as in Tarifa :)

Garuda flies from Bali to Banyuwangi every day at 07.20 am in the morning. Or you can get to Ketapang by car, taking one of the many car ferries departing Gilimanuk. From Denpasar you can reach Ketapang in about 4-5 hours. Flying goes much quicker :)

Please bring your own gear, preferrably your small kites as we normally have over 20 knots of wind!

Contact details provided on the event flyer! We look forward riding with you!

Greetings Jeroen

Sounds awesome but I'll be back in Oz by then, maybe next year

Hi guys,

Next year around this time we will organise another event, so if you can't make it this year, perhaps next year.

At Tabuhan Island we don't have waves. It's picture perfect flat water and choppy outside of the reefs surrounding this small uninhabited island. Great for free styling.

However, we just bought this boat. I am still overhauling its engines, 2 x 300 HP and renovating / refurbishing the boat in Bali. It should be at Bangsring Breeze early next month. The reason I got it, is to get myself, my friends and our guests to the relatively unknown G-Land rights breaks.

Our captain got a little worried when I told him we would be going there often. He said "Too strong wind, too big waves, who would you want to go there?" Hehe..

Yeah, its bloody cold here at the moment.

Like Col, I miss Putu's warung and Bugus kiting (not sure if spelt correctly)

I hope other kiters find this great spot to kite from. I thought Rip Curl was a good sopt to gather but its not a patch on Putu's. Hope others start to support them.
