Isn't it amazing. It was only a few years ago that we were all arguing about the real name of this virus. Well, we weren't really, pretty much just one fella.

Did it really affect the outcome whether it was called SARS-Cov2 or something else? I think the implication at the time was it was 'just SARS again'.

Yeahhhhhh, ummm, riiiiight. Not sure what that argument was or even what your point is, but....

but, it is called SARS-CoV-2 and has been since identification was confirmed and it was named.

And the 'implication' that it was/is SARS again really is is quite implied by the offical name of 'severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2'. Not sure what argument there is that is isn't.

I mean the film Jaws 2 wasn't the second in the series of James Bond movies. King Charles the third isn't the forth King to be named Joe.

The title and the name does, in many cases, kind of provide some clues as to the thing being named, FN.

For example, if you wanna go buy 2 kilos of bananas in Woolies, best to ask for 2 kilo of bananas. If you ask for directions to the nearest train station you might get something completely different from 2 kilos of bananas.

Does it matter MSN ?

To me, it sounds like something you might have said.

And everyone on here hears what they want to hear, to so does it really matter if you actually said it ?

Besides, you gotta admit, it was quite funny.

I'd give it four stars.

"However, virus nomenclature based on the location of its first detection or nationality causes problems such as diplomatic crisis, stigmatization and even racial profiling, among other things. Because of this, the WHO and other health regulatory bodies have argued that the coronavirus should not be given a name that is associated with people or a specific location. In general, the longer it takes to name a virus, the more long-lasting a fictitious name becomes. This appears to be a minor issue in comparison to the potentially lethal consequences of the virus's spread. However, the significance of proper naming cannot be undermined."

Yeah, putting D for disease in the name of a virus was pretty stupid. Maybe they figured that educating everyone that a virus can often progress to a disease in the host was too difficult so they decided to misname it and lose a bunch of credibility.

I am not sure we are on the same page, but I remember a crazy monkey on here lecturing us all about the correct name, implying that it was just SARS and it was not something to worry about.

I am happy to refer to it as 'Covid'. No one really cares what it is called as they know what is being referred to.

We are on page 18 FN. Soon we will flip over to page 19, but the arguments will remain the same.

And on the contary. The WHO was trying to reduce fear in naming SARS-2.

"What name does WHO use for the virus?

From a risk communications perspective, using the name SARS can have unintended consequences in terms of creating unnecessary fear..."

Netanyahu Admits He Turned Israel Into 'Covid Vaccine Lab' for Pfizer - The People's Voice (thepeoplesvoice.tv)

"I described that in my book, my conversations with Albert Bourla, Pfizer, and I persuaded him to give tiny Israel then the necessary vaccines to get us out first from the COVID. And the reason I could do that is because we have.a medical database. Ninety-eight percent of our population has digitized medical records.I said we'll use that, to tell you whether these vaccines..what they do to people" Netanyahu said, before adding:"So Israel became, if you will, the lab for Pfizer, and that's how we did it"

It's almost like Israel's president tried to convince Pfizer to use them as the test as they had the ability to give meaningful data back to Pfizer.

I don't know if this is actually what happened, but not a bad approach if you are eager to get ahold of a vaccine quickly.

Our PM would have held out for the cheapest one, as long as it hadn't yet expired.

ho hum no surprises here: mediabiasfactcheck.com on The Peoples Voice. I am surprised there are so many of these junk news sites. Sorta wondering what is the point of them all - i.e. Is the business model to print the most bizarre stuff as clickbait -> traffic for on site advertisers?

That's because they are not news services. As Fox News' lawyers confirmed, they are entertainment providers. Sure their clients are ignorant bigots, but theres a lot of them, especially in America.

You do realise Campbell was advising on getting the vaxxes early on. He ended up getting 2 I believe. But his tune changed over time.

Argh, I see. He has the same opinion as FormulaNova then.

FN got six (I recall he said, or was it five?), before he decided the benefit was not sufficent to warrant getting any more.

Funny isn't it. If you put the cap at five or six that is, apparently, the best opinion to have. If you put it at two, that gets you pure derision. If you put it at zero, that means you are a fully-blown conspiracy nutter who also believes the world is flat and Trump is God.

It is an incredibly rapidly changing scale going on there, from six to zero.

Although....... what I have noticed, is that the level of quackery measurement seems to have everything to do with how many shots the assessor themselves got, and zero to do with the circumstances of the individual being assessed for quackeritis.

Nurse Campbell's tune changed when he realised where the money was. His PhD is about how to make money through social media. That is, engaging ignorant, gullible people.

But the lottery sales person isn't telling you you will win $4M if you buy six tickets but have no chance if you only buy one.

And somebody on the internet isn't telling you that if you buy one ticket you are clearly an idiot who knows nothing about gambling and luck, whereas if you buy six like they did, then you clearly have the wisdom and knowledge to beat the entire Las Vegas system with one spin of the wheel.

Indeed, very true.

Then again at least people are free to engage, or to not engage.

I suppose if he had any brain's he'd be making some very very serious money developing drugs and getting government's to mandate their use to gullible people.

Nurse Campbell isn't qualified to develop drugs. Seems like he's a bit of a hand-to-mouth kind of guy - a bottom feeder.

I'm guessing he only just manages to scrape out a living by self producing bumbling youtube videos of himself wearing op shop clothing to gullible but loyal followers. Followers like The Flying Duchman.

Nurse Campbell started with moderately educational health videos as a side gig. Then he realised that antivax loons were a good source of income. His video channel is now worth about $4 million. Follow the money.

His channel is worth $4million - how do you get that valuation? He's got 3 mil followers, which isn't too shabby.
