I think the USA are going to have a tough time. Withdrawing from these areas makes sense as you don't want to waste your time fighting something that you cannot 'win', but it sounds like the Taliban will be taking over.

Its sad, as people will accuse you of ruining a country, which has already been ruined, just by crazy religious nuts, who will no doubt blame their existence on something they think the US did to them.

All US needs to do is confiscate all Chinese deposit in their banks,
forfeit any loan
and block all shipping line TO and OUT china sea.
The pretext is cooked well by now -COVID reparations, unfair trade and human right, global warming, pollution, LBGT discrimination, black holes on Sun surface ( due to exhausting sun energy by their solar panels) ,

That tactics should us give time till the end of the century- till Chinese will learn to drill tunnels across the planet to get directly from contry to country for their road and belt.
Whole world could be turned back to stone age, without Chinese merchandise, but that is the time we excel the best !

We're already at war with China.
We have had cyber attacks and all our infrastructure has been infected already with Trojan viruses to allow it to be shut down curtesy of the Chinese government.
When ever they decide to do that.
We're scrambling now to catch up & fix that problem.
We also have the economic attacks buying our infrastructure and we also have trade embargo.
The Boss of the army was on tv saying this
We are at the highest level of war already without shots being fired & the next level of this war is shooting bullets .
And how we need to retrain the army because China has more special forces than we have regular troops &
our troops won't be effective without this .
I'm pretty sure they don't like the fact the economic sanctions have not been effective as we just found other markets for our exports and manufacturing has returned to Australia .
Hate to be an alarmist but if they do decide to invade there's really nothing we can do about it our allies wouldn't be able to mobilise fast enough it would all be over too fast .
And there might not be any point in retaliation from our allies if we're all dead .
If we take in the idea that corona virus is a test run to see how we react maybe a bit like the pre invasion of Normandy by the Canadian and Australian troops who were all slaughtered just to test the defence and it gives a good excuse to inoculate their population from another weaponised virus that's far deadlier under the guise of a corona vaccination .
And it does seem to point that this naturally occurring virus has been weaponised and come from China these seem to be recognised as facts .
And it could all kick off at any second especially if there's a world class action for damages against China for the corona virus and that would wipe out them economically.
The cyber attacks are at the final stage of pre invasion.
They are massive attacks
This is a very very serious situation probably more so than any other threat that has ever gone before.
I'm not saying this is going to happen but it's certainly a very very strong possibility .
I hope & pray that it doesn't come to pass .

America is strongly committed to "helping" Israel right now. I imagine that "help" will lead to the betterment of Israel and a warm fuzzy feeling for all Americans...or war, could always end in war.

America will not openly go to war with china nor visa versa. Thats just MAD - mutually assured destruction. As been mentioned plenty of low hanging fruit for both big bears and / or to be hedged as proxy wars between them.

China is at war with us on the highest level before shots fired .
Why do people think that unless bullets are flying it's not a war ?
How many politicians got caught with there hands in Chinese pockets and wasn't new laws enacted to stop this ?
There not doing that just because they love our politicians.
Stop thinking about things from our perspective when all our plans revolve around the election cycle.
China has a 2 thousand year plan & they can stick to it because they don't have the election cycle.
I'm absolutely disgusted that this announcement from the head of the army didn't get discussed by our media talking heads & footballers in a pub brawl got more discussion.
And realistically it's not if but when & honestly it's probably going to be our own fault because of our complacency.
