I saw it was a 1in 200 chance of dying unvaccinated but 1 in 2million chance if vaccinated
Im pretty sure that's what they showed me when I got my 1st shot

As others said, they don't have the data: they'd have to know the rate of infection to judge the infection fatality rate, which they won't have until it's all over. So they making guesses, and doing it badly. We know that you're pretty much immune to our if you're under 20, and now susceptible the older you get. If you're 80, then that for it right.

The current outbreak in Qld is being spread by students, so being immune if under 20 is incorrect. Maybe they are less likely to get very sick but that won't help their parents if unvaccinated.

I'm guessing that the number of "anti vaxxer" nurses must be growing exponentially as they come face to face with the "vaccine" injuries presenting at hospital.

Growing evidence that the "vaccines" are ineffective.

Or actually put people at greater risk:

www.google.com.au/amp/s/www.seattletimes.com/nation-world/nation/cdc-study-shows-three-fourths-of-people-infected-in-massachusetts-covid-19-outbreak-were-vaccinated/%3famp=1

Obviously you did not read it:

People should be reassured that if they are fully vaccinated, that they are very likely, highly likely, to be protected against severe or critical illness, the kind of illness that would cause them to be hospitalized or killed by this virus," said Paul Offit, a vaccine expert at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. "Vaccines save your life."

Just googled this and the numbers correlate with the recent outbreak in Israel (pfizer loses effect over time it looks like) but the deaths have flatlined...

I see the vaccine as a seatbelt. Would I rather not have it? Yes. Is it going to save my life in a vehicle incident (covid)? Maybe..but that chance is better than none.

Had the 2 shots of pfizer. Had sore arm for 1-2 days. I have not turned magnetic or am mind controlled by Bill Gates (I still use Linux).
It looks like you have a greater chance of dieing in a motor vehicle accident compared to a vaccine shot. When are they going to abolish those dam cars?

Perhaps a Takata airbag would have made a better analogy

Oh I read it. The only thing I needed to take away from it was that people who have been vaccinated are catching and spreading the disease.

All the rest was jumbo jumbo written to continue trying to convince people to get stabbed.

Been enough "reassuring" over the past eighteen months to fill an ocean.

I'll take my advice from doctors who have a substantial track record for treating the disease thanks

I know the vaccines work, to some degree at least. And before they came out I was pretty hopeful. But in the meantime I've been financially crippled and damaged in less tangible ways for the benefit of the retired elderly. So unless those retired elderly are willing to compensate my losses, then, No! Get f..ked! I'm not doing anything else for you!

I feel your pain. Just did my tax. Dividends/distributions are down more than $40K this year.
But I did get a free vaccination
Will you be getting one before you are old enough to be at serious risk?

That's a bit cute. You only lost $40,000. I wonder if all old people think all young people are only suffering marginal hardships like yours.

Oh, I see. We are back to 'your life is not important to society, but my life is too important to take a vaccine for society'.

Maybe we can make it easy and anyone that's a grandparent should just accept that they have had their time and be ready to choof off?

Here's a bit of a summary from Aunty:

Got a COVID vaccine? Here's how it changes the risks of infection for you - ABC News

www.google.com.au/amp/s/amp.abc.net.au/article/100333024

but this may just be gov propaganda, by the national broadcaster that the current gov keeps trying to gag for being too anti gov propaganda

Just regarding the financial impacts of this pandemic, they are significant, but it is important to remember we are in a pandemic. Not something that happens often or is scheduled for the entertainment of the Ilumminati.

We need a 'brave new world' where the non-vaccinated can go off and live a prosperous life. Maybe a city that is remote where they can accept international arrivals and quarantine them?

Good article. The anti-vaxxer nutjobs will tell you otherwise, but the facts are:

Data from the UK shows both AstraZenecca and Pfizer vaccines stop about 80pc of infections
A person who becomes infected after being vaccinated is half as likely to pass the virus on to the people they lived with
The Pfizer vaccine is known to be 97pc effective at keeping infected people out of hospital

You anti vaxers can argue or protest as much as you like. But try to fly on a plane or even get into a pub in 6 months from now and see how you go.

If you are saying that 'they are making guesses and doing it badly' then you must know what the guesses should be. How is it that you know the answers or are you using 20/20 hindsight? Its easy to look at the results and say what should have been done.

There have been cases of people catching Covid in their teens. How is this for 'immunity'?

It sounds like you are making guesses as well, just different to the authorities.

Because infection rates won't accurately be known until it's all over. This isn't my guess, this is the facts. And even then the error bars will be huge. So obviously, anyone telling you exact odds is just making stuff up -- especially if they're averaging across all age groups: if you're 24, your chances are vastly different to a 64 year old.

There's the problem -- getting sick isn't what we're actually worried about are we. Or shouldn't be -- apparently these days, you can't even risk that.

We've got data from Sweden, who also didn't close schools: www.folkhalsomyndigheten.se/contentassets/c1b78bffbfde4a7899eb0d8ffdb57b09/covid-19-school-aged-children.pdf

2.9 million students and children under 19, 0 deaths, 14 admitted to ICU. If that's not effectively immune to the disease, I don't know what your definition is...?

Children don't tend to pass viruses to their parents, it usually goes the other way. We have data for this from Sweden again -- 17% increase in risk for parents of children who attended schools.

Not "maybe", they are very much less likely to get very sick.

Spread -- spread where? How many cases is it? 7-day average says 5 cases. And you haven't had a death since April.

Nah, doubt the ABC would be pushing any proper gander.

Just furthering the comment about children. T
his. About children. From a real doctor, with real Covid experience.---
There are currently around 2,414,000 children in Sweden (four of which are mine). If we divide the number of deaths by the number of children, then we find that the risk of having died of covid for a Swedish child is 0.00037% (one in 268,000). That is after a full year and a half of the pandemic. To put that in some perspective, in 2020, 15 children in Sweden died in traffic accidents. So the risk of a child in Sweden dying of covid during the pandemic has been around half the risk of that child dying in a traffic accident. Note also that Sweden has the safest roads in the world, yet children are still twice as likely to die in a traffic accident as they are to die of covid, and that's during a raging pandemic

I think alot of the info on child mortality of Covid and Sweden refers to the earlier variant.

This article completely skipped over the Indonesian children's malnutrition. My neighbour's home village hasn't sent their kids to school for two years. Poor people have been pushed into extreme poverty.

^^^^ Well hopefully they all get the jab soon so they can get on with life.

i guess we have been lucky in Aust. that the lock downs have kept things at bay, especially when you look at the massive death toll happening in Indo only a few hours away.

All passports expire . Just because you get one this year doesn't mean you will be able to renew unless you comply . What that compliance will look look like in 1,2 5 years etc no one knows. Once a "passport" is implemented there will be no going back .
