But its factual and I think every voter needs to know. I thought I did, but I didn't. No wonder we are consigned to be governed by the two major parties, but this shows how we can all do something about it.
I'd be carefully Markie,
Japie started a topic with "I know its not allowed here, but "............![]()

and he was never seen again![]()
I'd like to think the Seabreeze commando snipers took him out,
but I wont say that or I could be nex.............. hey, whats that little red dot shining in through the window.
I'd be happy to be governed by two major parties, assuming they would be working together and in a complimentary manner with robust, rigorous and intellectually honest discussion, with long-term accountability and staffed by well-educated ministers with relevant experience and not political science degrees.

A laser pointer, to get your 16 cats to trash your router and save the internet.
Libs are winning on the advert campaigns. I really like the hole in bucket ad and the middle earth albo ad.
Not enough to sway me, but the ads are very funny.
It is politics and it is a bit misleading. It oversimplifies the senate counting procedure and the guy is trying to get people to vote for anybody other than the main parties.
For anybody who is interested enough, the AEC explains the senate counting procedure here

Well no, the rule is no political arguments and this shows how stuff works
Sorta ![]()
I was hoping it wouldn't degenerate into a right vs left and it didn't so hopefully still on solid ground....

Bang on Mr Milk, a way more accurate explanation of voting that doesn't mislead people to vote a certain way like the marble one that's praying on the gullible to vote for anyone but main party's, but can see how he will and has suck some people in.
Next question is commercial TV advertising election coverage
Does anyone actually care? Why watch a slow, ever-changing count for hours and hours when you'll get the result in the morning anyway. Does anyone actually watch it at all?
Maybe its easier here as 90% of the nation is done at 8pm our time, so just flick the telly on for 30sec and see one side has conceded, great now I can go watch more Flying Dutchman videos on Yoochoob
Surely watching the red vs blue count is more interesting than watching the brown low medal count. . . or perhaps the whole game of whatever it's called.
Didnt even have to turn on the telly, some ad here from 9 news told me ScoMo is out.
Who likes AnAl - 4 yrs worth?
He forgot to mention spending 30 minutes writing a diatribe on the back of the senate paper. I counted votes once and it was a lot fun reading what everyone had to say.
Do we now have to look back at what was told to us in election promises and figure out what is likely to happen?
Someone should track these promises and see how they pan out.

You think there is some sort of correlation between "election promises" and "what will actually happen" ?
Hasn't human history taught you that the only correlation is that there is no correlation ?
Someone should track these promises and see how they pan out.
I thought it was the opposition, the media and the electorate's job to track these promises. You think there should be somebody else ?
Oh yeah,.....and...... do you think the price of secondhand wings will go up or come down in the next 3 years ?

You've just volunteered. Reports due in 12 months, 24 months and before the next election

Well if you're the Biloela family and the results decide whether you get to go home or get deported, you would probably track it pretty closely. For us middle-aged white males the result is probably much of a muchness anyway.

Okay, its a deal. Do I need a separate column for core promises and non-core promises?
You may or may not see a heavily biased interpretation though ;-)
1) We are all guaranteed at least a 5.1% pay rise
Might start browsing the buy and sell ads in Seabreeze.com.au - the best place to buy and sell watersports equipment.

I would hope the immigration law is the immigration law and doesn't change with the fickle populist opinion, or whether we have slightly left or slight right wing Govt. Too much to ask?
Interesting they chose pink for Labor huh

WA State Labor gave me a 1.5% payrise, then put up my rent (Govt worker house) so I achieved a loss in real terms.
Yeah..... they're for the people.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Put a positive spin on it and pretend they were a Liberal government and being responsible accountants. Good financial controllers!
I wish someone would sort out this housing affordablity mess though, but I think its not going to happen. There are too many property speculators and not enough first home buyers.
Has WA housing suffered the same as NSW where they seem to be outsourcing public housing to the private sector by subsidies instead of building new houses? This sounds like a part of the problem. Not enough supply so prices stay high.

Fair shake of the sauce bottle M_Oz.
Not like they have a massive budget surplus, are trying to spend to stimulate the economy, have an issue with getting essential service workers into the regions or the WA health system isn't literally falling apart with neglect.....
.....oh hang on....
Why, when they want to 'spend to stimulate' don't they just pay nurses, firies, policemen and teachers more ?
Us eastern state-ers sure do look at your budget surplus with envy, oh yeah we do nothing all day but muse upon WA budget surpluses... ... which makes it seem so weird how such envy doesn't magically make millions of nurses, firies, policemen and teachers want to immediately move there.
Such a quandary....
Might have to pay some consultants millions of dollars from the surplus to report on why such things are so..
Or try harder not to. Been stung a couple of times.
