And Heavy Weather is retired...

It's the end of an era.

For those who engaged in it, Heavy Weather (HW) was quite the place.

For those who don't know what HW was, it was the "sealed section" of seabreeze; it was where we moved controversial topics. Although we're often "attacked" for censorship, we chose to create an overflow area, where the discussion of "heavy" topics could continue, rather than just remove them. Eventually, it got a life of it's own.

To get access, you needed to have been a member of over 3 years or over 1000 posts. The idea being, that you would be mature enough about forums to understand how it all works.

Unfortunately, there were regular flare-ups, infighting, and waaaay inappropriate topics, which myself and other mods had to read. Not a great start to the day while munching on your cornflakes.

I'm sorry for those who enjoyed it and generally had open minded chats - hopefully STB can fill the void.

Obviously, if you feel the urge to start topics on politics, religion, racism, conspiracies, etc, these will be removed ... there are plenty of other places on the internet for that.

For those that think it's censorship. It probably is. Just like you probably don't go to the cinema naked, or stand inside a child care centre proclaiming 911 was an inside job. There are times and places, and Seabreeze is about good times and good friends.

Ps Just a tad annoying when clicking on Forums you then need to click on Shooting the Breeze (which i find tooooo close to them windsurfing topics

Maybe there needs to be a mirrored topic where people can comment on each post? Before long there will be more comments than images.

A lot of people will now actually have the time to solve the problems they spent all their time complaining about.

It was like one of those old play pens your mum used to drop you in With the other kids while she had a coffee with Jan down the road. Lots of interesting threads, lots of trolling and dummy spit tantrums. Im only slightly sorry to see it go. But reality is, its not what seabreeze is about.

thanks for tolerating it this long Laurie. Maybe now we'll get to see if loggy actually does a water sport....

I can still see it. Is it supposed to be gone or locked or something ?

Or have you just blocked it further so only us very, very special people can still argue in there ?

I understand the terror or huge inconvenience imposed having to scroll past a comment , but lucky for me I'm not badly effected and enjoy some of the comments . Sometimes more funny than the pic.

The thread however is in the general DISSCUSSION section.
The meaning of a thread is comments on the subject . So technically a funny image thread is comments on the image.
I don't often comment on the funny pics but I do find some funny , im sure some others find the comments worthwhile , just saying .
If there was a vote to comment or not , and not was the winner , I promise not to comment again.
I don't like to upset ,
