So, you think the enemy (your word, not mine. A foolish choice of word), would only target Australia because Australia has submarines.
The enemy (your word, not mine) could target Australia regardless.

On 01/02/2000 The ASX (AU200) was around $3,000.
22 years later it is at $7,000
It would be reasonable to expect it might be at $6,000 in 2025.
25 years to double.
At what point was the ASX ever a buy???
Its 20 year return is just barely above inflation. The ASX is terrible investment. You could have picked a basket of anything else, and done better. Anything.
You would have made more in cash, by not investing at all.
Which is good, because sending our subs to arctic ice sheet could be very unpleasant.
Very cold there I was told, water is - 70 Celsius cold
Water is at its densest at approximately 4 degrees C. Colder water than that tends to rise to the surface and eventually freezes if it gets cold enough. There is not usually water colder than 0 C anywhere in the ocean. The freezing point can be lowered below 0 with increased pressure or additives, but that doesn't happen in the ocean.

Chemically water at negative seventy Celcius remains still the same.
Liquid, solid or gaseous, still remain only water![]()

but what is very funny indeed that
we could have a block of ice 450 Celcius Hot !!!

During my trip to Norway, I did visit a very interesting museum. A ship specifically designed and build to be frozen into ice sheet,
Then travel for a year or more with all the crew onboard doing research ( and playing cards from boredom I guess too)
frammuseum.no/polar-history/vessels/the-polar-ship-fram/
I can imagine how fascinating for our submariners could be to allow themselves to be frozen and incorporated into the middle ice sheet, half a km below the surface. Spend a year or five, getting warm from a nuclear reactor.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Endurance_(1912_ship)
Ahh, technicality. Yes, frozen water is still water. Looking back you mention "arctic ice sheet" in separate sentence, close enough to deceive the unwary into distinguishing the following "water" as liquid.
Watched this the other night.
Fook I hate China. Their whole approach and attitude comes off as grossly immature, always. China is a giant baby.
Why did we ever let these dickheads into the club? They got drunk on one ginger beer and are throwing tantrums about anything.
Boo hoo; we hurt China's baby feelings.
So now we're a nuclear target. Whoop-dee-****ing-do.
1) if there were a nuclear war i'd much rather die in the first flash, thank you.
2) We always were a target. D'uh.
3) If they bomb Sydney they'll kill 1m Chinese., and wipe out billion$ in Chinese investment. Bravo!

What the world needs is a money that no central or reserve bank nor government can control, that can't be used to print money as a temporary solution; kick the can further down the road past the next election.
A money with a fixed, unchangeable supply, where everyone is their own bank.

Exactly!
The problem with bitcoin is its not an easy medium of exchange (yet), central banks dont want to lose the $ as the medium of exchange, as they can just print more when needed. Bitcoin also relies on energy to access it.
What about precious metal, gold and silver?...unless govt make it illegal to hold G&S as was the case I think before the 1970's in the US.
I reckon the success of Project Dunbar is going to determine the future of money.
Hopefully it will be an abject failure but I have my doubts.
What makes you think Project Dunbar is the future of money?
Tech has been around for over a decade, why that particular project?

Crypto-Trading Hamster Has Quietly Outperformed Warren Buffett For Months
In case anyone needed a quick reminder about the ridiculous state of modern-day investing, allow us to introduce you to Mr Goxx. Despite his rather proper name, Mr Goxx isn't even a human being. he's a goddamn hamster based in Germany who has been independently "trading" cryptocurrency since June 12th to a certain degree of success. In fact, given the 24% return on his entire portfolio as of last Friday, Mr Goxx the hamster has actually been outperforming both legendary investor Warren Buffett as well as the S&P 500 across the same period. The question on everyone's lips right about now is, "How can a literal rodent be running laps around the CEO of Berkshire Hathaway?" As much as it may break your heart to hear, no - this isn't a Flowers For Algernon situation, nor a borderline uncomfortable instance of a furry, human-like friend who gets picked for adoption over actual children in an orphanage and speaks with Michael J. Fox's voice. It all comes down to a tongue-in-cheek bit of innovation from Mr Goxx's unidentified caretaker/business partner dubbed the "Goxx Boxx."

In a short time frame, this decentralised currency has gained astounding relevance. The next generation are voting with their feet. Can't you see that?

Hamster is trading cryptocurrency, Warren Buffet calls cryptocurrency rat poison. (yesterday's hero)
In 2020/2021 crypto has been in massive bull cycle. Unsurprising that even a hamster can do better than WB trading it. Look at the charts ffs!
The innabilitty of some old timers here to see new trends and accept paradime shifts in market behaviour is astounding.
The next generation wants to change what and who controls currencies, largely because it's failing ... The key point is decentralisation.
Once you get a handle on what decentralised currency means, you will also see it's the future.
Invest even a small amount of $1K cryptocurrency today for each potential grand child in the top 5 cryptos. Put it away and keep a casual interest. In 20 years, you will thank me.
Decentralised maybe - but highly centralised in overall control by the big banks eventually.
Banks, finance and all their minions see the writing on the wall. They will soon find their straw houses gone. Just like the recording companies did when nabster came along. It's all deravelling in front of us now. Covid is accelerating it.
We are seeing the end of centralised finance and their monopolies, controlled by well established players. New players are already here, with better tech, they will, and are starting to, win the battle of hearts and minds.
Decentralised ledgers are proven to work.
Early days, early days.
Look who is driving it.
It will fail. Look who is driving bitcoin!!!

I hope you are right. I don't think you appreciate their clout though.
Look at the history. If your great grandfather was told that precious metal would have no relevance in the value of currency he'd have scoffed at the notion. I don't know how old you are but I recall the declaration on R1:00 notes promising to pay the bearer on demand it's value in gold.
Central bank owners have increased their power base through their control of money to the extent that they basically control the world.
And their aim is to have ultimate control as Augustin Carsens articulated.
I don't know how old you are but I recall the declaration on R1:00 notes promising to pay the bearer on demand it's value in gold.
You're talking about 1 Rand notes there, just to be clear?

Sorry got to call this out. Your statements are factuially incorrect.
You are ignoring income derived from investments (Dividends)
The S&P/ASX 200 index has been one of the best ways to invest and grow your wealth in Australia. With long term returns of about 9.5% per year including market growth and dividends.
