- Started with 1020 and 440 rear, long fuselage. Great learning setup.
- Played with 1020 and 400 rear, long fuselage. Was like adding spice to everything.
- Started shrinking fuselages, short, ultra short, even more spice.
- Went down to a 370 rear, extra chilli
- Tried the 1010 and 370 in high winds, zoom.
- Switched to 1150 front and 460 HA rear, ultra short.. my favourite setup so far for me.

What do you like so much about the 1150/460 combo? Have just gotten myself a 460 to play with along with my 1150, but not given it a good crack yet.

I would like a bit more speed but I've read that the 460 is quite twitchy and unstable? To be honest I was expecting the 390GAP to be a bit quicker and there's a rumour of a smaller 460 coming out.

That was what I expected, but I found it super steady. Be interesting to try a smaller HA rear.

Something more to throw into tweaking your ride is the rear shim. I've found it helps for keeping lift in the front wings during slower speeds but can take more speed to get up on foil due to more rear drag. Not really an effect when wing'ing but sup'ing yes. I also ran the rear at half the thickness and really liked that the most.

They're free to download, just register.

Also I'm finding 1150 ultra short fuselage and 370 rear for me as my session saver or if conditions are clean and I want super long glides. 10 mph and I'm powered. Higher winds I'm still loving the 1000 on a short fuselage and 340 rear.
If I go 860 then I'm on the short fuselage with 390 rear.

No one has chopped down the axis tails? Odd that all the other big brands guys chop the tails.

I am registered and the site still wants 10USD

Maybe they used to be free.

Go all the way to the payment page. When I ordered, they zeroed that out at the payment screen. Not sure why it's setup that way. PM me and I can email you the file if you need it. It's just a file to use on a 3d printer.

Quote from the page. These files are free for download, just add to cart and proceed as if you were shopping online. At the checkout page you'll be provided with a downloadable link and a copy will be sent to the email you provided.

I use the -1 degree shim, the one that goes under the front screw.

Interesting he didn't like the 390GAP. I assume it's more for winding than pumping.

Would love to hear more about your - 1 experience.
Basically it changes the angle of attack creating less drag on the stab which means more glide but what does it to to the front wing? Does it want to breach more?

I just notice an increase in speed. Was winging with the 1000 with the 390. Without the shim I felt like I just couldn't go very fast, compared to the day before with the shim. The wind was different, but on the prone board it feels much faster with the shim as well..

when I had first tried the shim about a year ago, I hated it. I needed too much back foot pressure, but I now ride my foil much further forward in the tracks then I did way back then, and I really didn't notice much difference other than speed. Gonna try it with the 460 tail next.

Great feedback thanks ! I'm also on the 1000/390 and wished it was faster so I will try the -1 shim.
So based on what you say, it causes the front wing wanting to go down more and you counter the more back foot pressure by moving the track forward hmm I need to try this !

My bit of bro science as I understand it: Stabs are angled with the leading edge down somewhere around 5 degrees depending on the tail. The -1 shim under front screw levels out the stab... by....... 1 degree. This decreases downward force from the stab which means less resistance... more glide. You will need to adjust to this w/ less front/more rear foot pressure. I like that surfing on my prone I found myself naturally adjusting by riding with a more relaxed, narrower stance- my front foot not as far forward. My SUP has footsteps so I just kicked the mast forward a touch. I suppose I could move the foot-straps back, but their placement works good for other wing combos and trims evenly standing on the water.

I have been winging the 1150 with 390 83mast and ultrashort fuse on Gong Hipe 5'3" 82kgs. This setup is really fun! Transitions are cake with all the glide. I can flag out and pump as far as I want. I wander if there's any way to loosen the roll a bit? Might be just what you get with a 1150 wingspan. I am eyeballing the 1010 with 90mast and short fuse and 460 tail. Any thoughts on this setup? I would like a bit more top end and carviness. Also started doing some airs and wandering if this might be a good setup for that. My jumping setup is a 80L Moon Buddy with 920 standard fuse, 68mast 400 tail shimmed up slightly. This setup is slow as hell and I am having trouble popping out of the water to jump. Send it!!!!
