Oops sorry..............meant to put the video above under Foiling Videos. Accidentally put it under the Wing Foiling Videos. Sorry
Aaron
This video pretty much sums up a lot of wind foilers' experiences:
It sure does.
But it's also hard to get across the idea that you might spend 2hours slogging about trying to get on the foil for like a minute of flight time..... and that minute is so amazing you are frothing all week!
Foiling is not a crime! It seems criminal to me that Balz Muller is soooo good! Foil + board + wing + 6 or 7 knots of wind and away he goes.
Hey great vid . The Wing a ding surf video is my dream vid. Looks exactly what I would love to achieve in this great sport. I would have liked to see the wing in use during the vid. Theres no white caps and maybe a cross off spray from the wave tops. How the hell did the rider catch the waves?. Haha ,
A bit of ultra-light wind action on the Wing-Surfer 6m, Hover 110 and HA1800 (with my custom 45cm fuselage).
enjoy,
First session with the GoPro Max.
You've got a big problem.-- a ton of wind foiling equipment that you're telling yourself you'll still use. Good chance that stuff doesn't get used much, especially with that 7 metre Echo calling your name every time the trees start to move. I'm in the same boat -- if there's wind I want to be on foil with a wing. I love wind foiling but it is just so much easier to pump up the wing and go -- and I suspect I love the wing more than the sail.
i was at a cross roads about a mth back...buy new windsurf foil stuff (proper slinghot wizard board) or invest for the first time in Winging...i went for the Wing and dont regret it

I'm hoping I'll still wind foil with a sail but the wing is what I seem to end up using.

I think you may be correct. Ive only wind foiled once in he last 2 months.
So much more portable and with the Naish being so easy to get going Im feeling that I am actually foiling in the same light winds my Sails achieve.
I originally thought winging would be stronger wind sessions when the windfoil gets a bit sporting.
Wind foiling may still have a slot when its high tide snd very choppy.
Here's a little bit of a long one (again), but it's all one clip from a D-winger I did today after work (some like to see continual clips over just the highlights). Sailed upwind for a few km's then free-winged back.
Wind was NE-NNE. Felt about 10-12kn at first but was dropping quickly. Here is the reading of the hang gliders station on top of long reef headland which is generally a lot windier than what is actually on the water (when I am deciding wether or not to ride I usually halve it, some subtract 5kn which seems a little more likely today). I rode from 1700 - 1730.

I am riding the NAISH Hover 110, Wing-Surfer 5.3m and the JET 1800HA Foil. Today I rode strapless.
Obviously with the wind between 11-14 degrees, straight DW is 191-194. The swell was very east making it super hard to come off the wind deep. Also the GPS on my GoPro crashed for a bit at the start, but gets going a little into it. You can see angles and speeds once it does.

A bit of speed winging today in the westerly. My goal was to get over 45kmh, which I am stoked to have done on 2 runs. Now to start working on getting to 50kmh.
Weather has turned here. Very strong gusty NW winds giving Cross offshore. Glad I have the shallows to play in.
Weather has turned here. Mega strong but gusty NW winds.
Glad i have the shallows to play in when its off shore.
Was that a sandbar at the end or just a rest? ![]()
Breeched unfortunately. As I backed off to go into my jibe I went high and ate shyte. Ouch!!

I am interested in this wind winger stuff, but I'm yet to see anyone punching out through the surf. Are there any videos of people negotiating the shore dump then punching out through the white wash. All videos seem to show people sailing around the surf zone on the way out. What happens when you fall in and can't waterstart quickly? Is this an issue? The alarm bells are ringing because I remember trashing windsurfing gear in the surf, but love the way it is never an issue with kiting. Thanks
