I feel like armstrong's market share has been.diluted. Each new wing has pretty insane production and tooling costs and if there aren't as many riders re-upping for the latest and greatest it doesn't make as much sense to do as many wings.
On this side of the pond, Armstrong doing very well. ML boards are a success, not to mention how many people got the HAv2. The progression, at least here, is to start with Sabfoil/North and once you know what you doing, invest in an Armstrong kit. Used Armstrong stuff sell easy, particularly boards, sails and HA v2.
Armstrong needs a faster high perf foil. I ordered the DWP755 to complement the HA780. Will see if I really can get 2-3kt more and to what extent I have to trade-off turning and ease of use.
Curious how these incoming Race foils will look like.
I'm an owner DWP, and I definitely want a new line in between. The HA is slow in some conditions, and the DWP can be very demanding if conditions are not good.
Which DWP size is this? With demanding you mean input heavy (steering), or control (pitch, nervous etc)?
DWP930, by demanding, I mean requires constant movement because it drops if it is not moving at a decent speed.
The HA480 and a Dart 120 are released.
Specs of the front wing:
HA 480
Area: 480cm2
Span: 726mm
Aspect Ratio: 11.0
-> So a AR11 addition to the line up, but in a different way then discussed here. Could be a good addition to a 680/880 set-up, curious to see how it relates to the MA625 (has a span of 690mm, so bit smaller span, bit more surface area).

Specs on the tail:
Dart 120
Area: 120cm2
Span: 300mm
Aspect Ratio: 7.3
So a lower AR than the Dart 140 (with an AR of 8.7). Looks like a production and rounded-off version of the cut 140 tail that Oskar is already riding for some time now.

I had a quick hour long wing session on the HA480 courtesy of the Armstrong Demo here in West Oz. Setup on 795PM and 140 Dart
I'm a 88kg rider.
Take off was relatively easy with enough wing power, just had to gain enough board speed and then it would lift and accelerate away fast. The top speed is pretty high. Definately the fastest I have ever gone on wing power, no stats to share though only going from feels. The harder I pushed the HA480 the faster it went. Crazy small foil numbers but crazy good fun to ride. I recommend if you can, try it and see what you think.
Posted my impressions on the DWP 685 here:

Tried the 480 last week. Funny as I was writing my experiences on the DWP 685, it reminded me that the 480 is much more a little brother of the 685 than the 680 in my experience. It has the same forward projection preference when getting on foil and a lot less 'capped' top speed relative to the 680. In the rolling DW waves the 480 is also keeping its speed way better than its bigger brothers. Not that feeling that the handbrake is on like with the other HAv2's.
The other surprising aspect to me was, that the reduced area seems to help it relatively more than the bigger sizes to keep its glide. In my experience the glide was actually better than the 680 in comparable rolling swell.
The DWP 685 and HA 480 would be a killer combo for a 2 foil-quiver for the better foilers!
(Testing conditions: 20-25 knots, 80KG, 5'0 46L AK Phazer, 82,5 Cedrus Evo Surf, 60 fuse, 140 red, 4,5 Unit D '24)

They are coming soon I hope. Pretty sure Armstrong was shooting the promo videos in Margaret river last week. Keen for some real world feedback. Full range in 100cm2 increments.

Yep they were here. Rode pretty average ![]()
Yeh UHA 12.6 ish coming real soon - haven't heard anything about new tail ms though. So with this, the Ha and the Ma got all bases covered now except the really high aspect race foils which are is a very snall
niche market anyway.
Man those Mas are turning into some incredible parawing foils, when conditions suite. And the HA is already bloody good given they turn so well. Been jumping up and down for 2 years for UHA - now i'm wondering what for ![]()

Hi Eppo, if you don't mind asking, what size MA & setup you running, and in what conditions working for you. Thanks

690 is the magic size for para / 130 surf up to 890.
Did a run with oskar and aiden both on the 690 and they were ripping the sh1t out of it on the 30 odd km DW. JL was on the 790 doing the same.
990 the 170 finding is needed.
Blue, red the surf tails at least
Para is changing the whole game man in terms of what foil and what size.
But armstrong got these new MAs right that's for sure.
If ya want less acute turning then the HAs say at the 680/780 with small tails are really good on the para and now the UHAs . not sure as yet. All bases covered that's for sure.
Some more pretty average riding here from about the 4' mark. They don't mention what foils they are riding, but all team riders so could be testing.
