8mths into my Carver journey and I feel like I'm managing it a lot better. Rough water combined with fickle wind is the worst, but as long as there's enough wind to create a bit of pressure in the wing and I'm good. Thick and narrow is very corky and challenging at times, but I think one benefit of this is you can get a good rebound going when you're trying to pump it up onto the foil. Having said that, I reckon my perfect custom would be same volume and length, but 22" wide and thinner. One aspect that I think the Carver excels in is its fast planing speed to get smaller foils on foil. I recently acquired an Axis ART Pro 851 (630cm2) and no problem at all getting it going.

I've started to customize my most recent Carvers as well to thin them out. Next one will potentially be over 6' and have a new deck shape.
Here's yesterday in wild 43 knot gusts. Silk 650. 86kg, Custom Carver: 5'11"x20"x4-11/16"x77l
