My PTM926 'standard' just dropped in this morning .. man that 92cm 12K mast is "factory works" quality! And that foil bag? A proper job. Bought it as my ocean swell riding machine but gonna give it a go later at the river gusting 20knts ... will report ASAP. Have been demo'ing an Axis HPS830/375/ultrashort last few days (thanks Will @standupsurfshopfreo) and it smokes on tight carving jibes and jumps even on their 19mm Ali mast. I may need two setups in the end ![]()
Had it out on my Strike 4.2 and SMIK 4'8" 75L for a quick test run in 15-20knts (tail end of our epic 3-day WA cold front of the year). I weight only 65kg so the PTM926 easy smooth lift on one to two light pumps. Autopilot like straight line crusing and no effort needed for pitch adjust. I placed mast about 20mm behind where I usually mount the Axis HPS830/Naish HA1040/Unifoil Hyper 210 etc. Very user friendly foil, the 92cm 12K mast very stiff mast just allows level flight over most of the messy wind chops heading upwind. Speed wise, good for a 1250sqcm wing and nice to carve around. The PS400 "do it all" stab keeps everything in check and super easy. OK, for my weight, its going to be a light wind foil or for a chill session glide and flag endlessly on some ocean swell as it pumps easily. Nice overall ![]()
