Armstrong and Ozone are close. Armstrong might be V2 and Ozone bring out V3 next year. Not sold on the massive leading edge. Went from Ozone to Smik and have enjoyed the change. Riding upwind on a swell the ozone had heaps of drag meaning I got mowed down quite a few times.

I'm hearing more & more issues with the A-wing...
One dealer states that 9/15 they had sold have been returned.
Mostly bladders popping.

I'm bummed - I was keen to order a 5.5m!

In fairness I should add that Armstrong are apparently sorting out the customers who experienced issues...it's just taking a while. As is everything with a supply chain nowadays...

Do you know what the number are like as far as strut vs leading edge bladder problems? From what I read it seems all strut bladders. There is apparently a fix that involves anchoring the strut bladder.

Apparently - as far as I've heard it's been the strut bladder popping.
Just heard back form a very reputable dealer who acknowledged that issue with the A Wing and says it's been addressed by anchoring the strut bladder as you mention.

Also got an email from Armstrong saying the burst bladder issues have been resolved by this modification...

So it sounds like it's all good now...

Maybe time for me to pull the trigger on an A Wing...

Would be keen to keep hearing from current owners on how the wing is holding up.

Armstrong are replacing mine under warranty. they also confirmed the issue has now been addressed in the new wing they are sending me.

Hasn't arrived yet. Was coming from China via NZ I think they said. Was on the old one which I repaired today. Pretty sure I was overpowered on a 5.5m in 18kn but is easy to dump speed by angling more upwind. Also just changing the wing angle seems to depower the wing. Early days so still learning the nuances. Found that power bar is in the perfect location for getting started up off your knees

For those interested/for what it's worth...and who might also own a Naish S25 6m wing.

here is a comparison of wingspan of the 5.5m A Wing and the Naish S25 6m wing...
I find it interesting comparing various designs and what the relative pro's & cons might be...

A-Wing has a slightly wider wingspan, but is "shorter" on the trailing edge.
Leading edge and strut are much thicker than the S25...

I have being riding my Unit 5m and must admit I (80kg) am quite powered at times, so I have being looking at smaller alternatives recently, like 4m. The A-wings being more powerful for their sizes, I am considering the A-wing 3.5m for 18+ knots conditions. Also, my kid (10 yrs) would like to get into winging, so this could be a good size for him in light conditions (8-10 knots). Thought?

Question for A Wing owners:
Are you all packing the wing into its bag...?!
Nice bag, but seems way too small.
Not keen to fold the daylights out of the wing & stuff it into its bag...
I hear folding the windows is OK too?
(The lack of any guidance from
Armstrong would imply that all the above is OK...?)
Thoughts...?

I usually store the wings back in their bag. Actually it is just fine. I fold it double and then roll it up from both sides. Fits without any issue.

No problems at all. Just roll in both wings towards the strut and fold in two. Fits right into the bag, with leash, control-bar. I strap the pump to the outside. Bag is plenty big and useful

The A-wing window material is different from those used on Naish, for example. Naish tells you to not fold theirs. You can fold the A-wing in half and it fits into the bag nicely.
