I've only used the new 93 mast three times... first time stock with no QR, and the next two times using the QR. If I didn't/don't trust the QR, then I will add the two M6 screws from the top but leave the QR in which provides additional tension from the sides to the mast head.
I cannot really compare the M93K to the old M92 b/c I was riding Project Cedrus 90cm (bought before the M92 was available. My M82 I got a lot of ventilation at speed. PC 90 solved some of that, and the M93K seems even better.
It's too bad SAB didn't make QR stock/standard with their masts. Charging ~$100 for it seems like a lot as well but then I guess everything in this sport is getting $$$.
Getting pretty good speed w/ the W940 and M93K, and the mast has given me confidence to push it without fear of venting and crashing. Something is humming pretty good at speed... I know the front wing was humming a bit when using w/ the PC mast, but this seems louder or I'm going faster... have a feeling the mast is making noise as well... will try to clean up the trailing edge and see if that does anything but the hum is also kind of like an audible speedometer and hopefully scares away any underwater critters.
I have just ordered the 83799 kit
799 frontwing
399 stab
83cm mast
703 mast
Plate mount
I have added 903 fuse and tuttle mount to do windsurfing with it and the Quick Release kit.
Because i want to let the tuttle head mounted on my windfoil board and use the QR to save time. Also want to use the QR with the plate on my prone or wing board.
But i am a bit worried because i have seen the last sabfoil video wich explain how to fit the kraken properly using washer : you have to adjust the number of washer for the mast to be tight properly in the plate/tuttle head.
If the mast is set properly with one head, will it be the same with another head? or will i have to set the number of washer each time i want to change between tuttle or plate?
If it is so it will be totally useless...
on the video we often see people with two foils using one head, but not one foil using two heads (or just one video with balz)
i will receive the gear this week, can't wait!!!!! ![]()

After initial frustration concerning the lack of backward compatibilty I decided to order some of the new Kraken-system.
I don't need the quick release, but did order 2 baseplates to go with the 2 masts (63 and 83 cm). Also ordered the f703 K fuselage.
Connection of the mast and fuse is with M8. Fuse and mast also have a sacrificial anode (prevent corrosion).
The m83 mast is stiffer than the m82. Connection with the baseplate is snug and the whole feels solid. On the water (1 session with the giant w1250 front wing) the set up feel stiffer and more direct.
The f703 fuselage has a different incidence for the stabilizer compared to the f700 fuselage. the mast/fuse connection has a different footprint and is m8.
The hardware used is different (countersunk with countersunk washers).
Thanks for the info. I had a quick question you might be able to answer. The website states that the 2 smaller masts (63,73) are less stiff than the taller ones (83, x). That makes no sense to me but since you have both categories, what do you reckon? is it true or a website typo?
How stiff are the masts when up against the new generation of ultra stiff masts?
I owned three foils and I did the usual 'stupid user stiffness test'.. board upside down, foil attached, stand next to foil and start twisting the fuse:
- windfoil: AFS 95cm.. super stiff.. back in 2019!!! Their UHM must be quite something
- wingfoil 1: Neilpryde glide surf, 70cm alu mast.. a bit of twist, but hey it's a cheap thing.
- wingfoil 2: Sabfoil 93cm kraken carbon.. same test... let's say I expected an AFS level of stiffness after spending all that money and hearing how kraken was going to be better..but the stiffness was more towards the 70 alu mast.. I found that disappointing.
I know these are three complete different products and my test was 'stupid user methodology' based.

They have new thicker pump masts. The standard kraken ones are nice to ride but not to pump long spanned wings (if you are on the heavy side of course)

So how was it using 2 different heads?
it was good!!!!
both head works great with no issue.
i have changed for a more surfy foil but it was a great setup, well built
