Larks head knot for wing leash to wing connection?

Lark's head is technically effective, though I always use this

This is the way.

Usually the leash has a loop just big enough to pull your wrist cuff through and you can skip the extension loop...

Yep, not foolproof.

That may or may not be a problem.

I use the stopper ball for my wing leash>harness connection (using a low friction ring on a behind the back slider line). Haven't ever had any issues whatsoever. That said, I would be wary of the connection without the stopper ball.

Definitely not fool proof but very convenient. Key step is to preload the knot with a solid pull. I was in a hurry once and just slapped it on and it slipped off launching. Haven't had a problem since

The reason people are losing their wings is because this particular leash doesn't use a larkshead connection.
The earlier version of Howard's leash did. I used that version for a couple of years and never had it come loose.
I quit using it recently because it's even a bit too fiddlie to remove.

Last "lost wing" I rescued still had the leash attached (using a larks head). wrist cuff came loose

Ive been using larks heads to connect my wing and board leashes for 2 years, never had a failure.Ive had other parts of leashes fail, as i mess around with different parawing board leash types (no expanding coils), but never the larks head.Also never had a larks head fail with 10 years of kiting, very solid connection IMO
