Hows the wind range? Can you compare it to one of the old ART wings?
Still thinking about which size to choose.
I've only had one session on it but I really think the range is comparable to the V1 Arts. The 939 sits in-between the 899 and 999 V1 and feels exactly like that. I would have felt much more over-foiled on the V1 999 in these conditions, and the 899 would have likely been a little faster. The 939 improves the low end on the 899 definitely increasing the range. I got the 939 because I was looking to improve the range of the 899 and also feel OK jumping it. I don't jump my V1 999, so I felt that replacing it with a 999 V2 would have been unnecessary given I REALLY love my V1 999 and it does everything I want it to do... except breach tips well.In general, I don't jump foils wider than 900mm, but the 939 is close enough. I'm not the biggest fan of the shape of the V2. I feel they are too pointy. Here's another video from yesterday at a different angle... from our local drone pilot Steve Ross. A little bit of racing starts at about 00:40. I'm on the blue Unit 5.5 and the black Appletree.This is the V2 939 with a Skinny 362. I discovered that at speed that 362 generates too much lift for this setup. I need a smaller one. In the meantime, I move the mast back all the way on that board AND I shimmed the tail 0.5 a degree and it improved things. This angle doesn't look very fast. Flying lower helps with that.

80 kg rider, 45 skinny stab, ultrashort advance fuse and 90cm HM mast. Conditions were small wind chop and 16 knots wind.
The markering from Axis is pretty spot on. Glide and speed feels similar to 999 v1. Roll axis is looser and turning is quite similar to spitfire(lots of fun). It also handles rough water really well and I could keep a higher speed through chop than with the V1. Just a really fun and comfortable foil. It will be my go-to for most days.

This foil makes all the others irrelevant. It turns like the spitfire and glides like the ART series. Its the first foil I've ridden that makes me feel like I can surf on a wave. The turns are a bit more drawn out compared to the spitfire but I like that. I will be selling all my SF foils to get these for sure.

Thanks Bennis123. Probably just what I needed to hear before pulling the trigger. Seems like 939 is the safest bet.....
At this point I feel the V2 939 is the "better" size simply because it does sit between the V1 899 and 999. I don't think it's mean to replace either. However, it can potentially replace the 899, but it lacks the low end of the 999. This Sunday, I had to ditch the V2 939 for the trusty V1 999 when the wind softened because it was getting to be way too hard to get the 939 going.

I think there are more sitting on the fence than usual for the v2 after all the varying not-quites
I considered the LX as I don't particularly like the axis feel and supposedly the v2 predictably is definitely of the spitfire/art line.
I ended up ordering a proto Maguire which is axis compatible, will report back on how it goes, but I definitely am glad that smaller brands are making axis compatible foils

Just had my first session on the 939 v2 and I am really happy!
I couldnt get the old ART899 to work in chaotic choppy water, it was just too much work.
I had the BSC810 for these conditions, which is a nice foil, but it just lacked glide.The 939 is really nice to handle in these conditions, plus a lot of glide and stability while still being agile.Would recommend!

i have been mostly riding HPS 930/1050 and occasionally ART999. I use Ultra Short Black Fuse (not Advanced) /375P stab.
I weigh 75 kg's, proficient at jibing and now tacking from toe side.
Not into jumping / freestyle but riding swell and waves.
I am considering going to ART V2 939 so any perspective on proper fuse and stab choice appreciated.

It was suggested to me that I consider ART V2 939, Black Adv Fuse Crazy Short (comparable to my current Reg Black Ultra Short) and Progressive 300 stab. If I were to go Skinny, 363/50.

Just wondering how its holding up against the competition.
First thoughts on 879 after winging in 20 knots, overhead broken swells Elliston SA. Been riding the 899 for 3 years and have had sf 1030 and 900 and 4 months on 1051, 1001 and 951. Wing, sup dw and prone.
So, it's definately not an artpro. A lot slower and less glidey, more towards a spitfire. It is smooth to turn and has a very good low end, I'd say better than the 899. It likes to be powered up more than the 899, maybe why it's billed as a winging foil? I think it can be pushed faster than the 899, has a wider range. But there's a slot in the middle of the range that I think the 899 is better. It may be that I live somewhere that the swells match the 899 very well at my 75kg, but there you go. I worked hard on learning to foil the artpros particularly the 951, and I've found that slowing it down a bit with a 300p instead of a skinny works really well, so I had the 300 on with the 879. It may be better with a skinny, the sf certainly were. In summary, if you're looking for a cheaper entry, the older arts are still relevant, at least the 899 and 999, maybe not so much the 1099. I'll be sticking with the 951 for winging, but will see how the 879 goes in the surf. My prediction is good for prone and sup in slower well shaped waves.
Interesting feedback. What I'm reading is that the V2 is possibly a slower, but better turning ART V1, but other than the 999, this tends to be masked by the offset sizing? Thinking about replacing my 999 v1 with v2, but don't really want to sacrifice speed. Hard to know as I haven't read much direct comparison of these 2 foils.

I don't think they're slower. They just need to be driven harder, and will probably go faster when pushed. Consider a go on a 1001, it's more technical but if you work at it you will adjust. Also the biggest improvement to my 899 was adding a -1' shim to my 300 and 350p tails. Or consider a skinny if you haven't already got one. I also rounded and thinned he tips of my 899 it made breaching more manageable.
Did a comparison between the ARTv2 939 and the SP780, both around the 900sqcm. Our conditions are rough bay swell, lots of water movement. Interesting that top speeds are not a lot different, I put that down to the 939 being harder to get to higher speeds than the 780, the 780 is just easier to ride. I did crash more on the 939 as you can see in the graph.
But, the 939 is better for jumping, you can grab a burst of power when loading up and it accelerates very quickly.
