That's not grundies or even stubbies

Although if you look carefully you'll see the stubbie

This will be a WWA run event

You need to be a WWA member to enter

2 Races in one starting together

You register for the Race u want to be in before the event

One race is the true Marathon 6 legs of 7km = 42km and for the Crasher Cup

Other race is 2 legs of 7kms 14km for fun and for the less serious/fit

Jan 1 o2 2011 weather/wind permitting Race start 2pm or 3pm depending on wind

Do we register on the day Hardie or somehow with WWA before the day?

I think on the day unless WWA wants to do it differently?

Online registration beforehand would be preferable via the WWA site.

We DO NOT WANT to be signing up new members on the day, we much prefer to do it online beforehand. This keeps all the records nice and clean and makes a nice dated and time paper trail in case of insurance issues if they ever arise.

wwa site updated: http://www.windsurfingwa.org.au/index.php?option=com_eventlist&view=details&id=57:gpstc-2in1-race-mandurah&Itemid=17

However you need to be on the wwa homepage to login (a silly bug) then proceed top the event page.

cheers

Just to clarify.
You need to be a WWA member to take part in the event.
If you are not a member and wish to take part please join via the website.
windsurfingwa.org.au/
You will need to register and then pay the $60 membership fee.
Please do this by the 31st December.

If you are already a member it would be helpful to us if you could register your intent to race via the event page. Log in from the homepage first then go to the event page.
windsurfingwa.org.au/index.php?option=com_eventlist&view=details&id=57:gpstc-2in1-race-mandurah&Itemid=17

What if you're already a WWA member but you're not sure at this stage if you're going to enter or not?
Can you enter the race on the day?

yep

I think what they are referring to about signing up is the WWA membership not race registration

Yes there is some confusion, eg 1 Race Registration and 2 WWA membership

My understanding is this: In order to register you need to be a WWA member and this needs to happen before race day. Once you are a member of WWA you can register for one of the 2 races on the day itself.

Can this be clarified by WWA please.

Hardie is correct.

If you could register your interest on the website that would help us with planning but it is not a contract. There is no entry fee as it is covered by your membership.

You need to be a member by the 31st in order to be a part of the event.

If you are not already a member you need to register on the website (choose a username and password) then join through the site via paypal.

Then go to the event page and register for the event.

If you are already a member and do not want to register for the event before hand. You can register on the day.

Are there any hire shops down that way that will be attending.

Will be in perth but not bringing my gear over . I can probably hire something in perth and drive down but would be easier if there I can pick up something to ride down there :)

Will be using my dads car which only has soft roof racks he uses for a kyak so dont really want to travel with boards on top

Cheers

Merry Xmas everyone, we have said its not necessary to register interest on the WWA website and only 5 windsurfers have, since we left it open that official registration would happen on the day, lets hope a lot more turn up than the 5 nutters (Including me ) who bothered to express an interest

7 nutters have expressed an interest lets hope thats about 20% of who's actually going to turn up, on Windguru Mandurah Sat 1st is looking the pick of the days (Edit 7pm update, now Sunday looking better), but still too early to call, depends on what this High Pressure system does

Latest BOM forecast: Saturday: SE winds 18/23 knots tending S/SW 20/30 knots in the afternoon, returning SE 15/20 knots inshore late evening.

Warning: This appears very optimistic to me, (except for Rottnest Island) if you look at synoptic charts and windguru, more likely to be 15 to 20kts on the estuary

Latest Forecast: Saturday: SE winds 18/23 knots reaching 20/30 knots offshore in the morning.
Winds tending S/SW 20/30 knots in the afternoon, returning SE 15/20 knots
inshore late evening. Seas 1.5m to 2.5m. Swell to 4.0m.

Windguru Mandurah

2pm 13 to 16kts
5pm 14 to 19kts

Windguru probably more accurate for Mandurah than Bom, which has to forecast out to Rottnest waters

Synoptic Chart, shows a Trough Line right on the coast, which could influence whether we get a strong seabreeze of a moderate southerly?

Latest reports if winds are good, people are talking maybe 50 starters? But who knows?
