Hi - whats the plan for the weekend? Trying to make arrangements with family and looks like that Sun will be best wind wise. Perhaps WWA could post a tentative program based on current forecast?

Cheers and look forward to the event!

If it blows NW as forecast and cant be shifted to Benderland Bunbury, the best long legs for a Marathon in Mandurah on the Peel estuary, on that NW direction would be "FatBoys" Nairns Beach Coodanup. if NW can do 7 to 8km legs.

You have an old track for that spot?

I wouldnt know how to do any of that stuff

SooKayyy, Mike (Decrep)just put one up. Was'nt sure but thought that was the spot. Step Son lives that side, not a bad spot to play in

The whole idea of our events this year is that they are a social weekend.
There will be something going on throughout the weekend. So come along.
Unfortunately with the wind direction being NW(Sat), W Sun we are having to be flexible with the events.

We have to get permission for use of water / foreshore, safety boats, etc well in advance so we are a bit limited in where we can congregate.

Final decision will be made tomorrow after looking at the latest forecast.
Rough plan is Red Rooster lunch at Novara (Estuary at noon) with registration for the weekend and your last chance to enter for the Windwise coaching course competition.
Freestyle clinic before the Marathon at 2pm and after.

Pontoon boat 10 seater for spectators and photographers.

Marathon course will be finalised on the day but as Coodanup has a weed issue it makes it difficult for boat access and therefore unsuitable.

Marathon will either be a sail downwind to get clear wind for a start or a short drive to a suitable launch point.

Dinner at the Hot Rock Cafe at the Dawesville cut (7pm) with the prize draw. Book here http://www.windsurfingwa.org.au/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=86

Sunday will probably be a freestyle comp in the morning (venue TBC) and possibly waves in the afternoon. We will have a briefing at Avalon (Ocean) Sunday morning.

Thanks for your cooperation we are trying to make the most of the weekend.

I stuffed up sorry, bad weed was on the SOUTHERN end of my tracks, weed at Coodanup is no worse than Novara.

The WWA post above mine says 7pm, so I was pointing out the discrepancy and I'm just wondering which it is.

I know I voted for the true marathon but in retrospect I liked the 1 hour format. It means those who are slow at least have company on the water the whole time rather than finishing on their lonesome while the fast guys are back at the beach.
It was fun being in a big field of sailors. Usually it feels quite lonely being out on the estuary.

A great job by the organisers who were faced with many challenges on the day.
