Personally im finding +20 litres on body weight is perfect for ****ty SEQ wave condition allowing enough float for uphauling.
Have slogged back to beach when kites are falling out of the sky.
Have also tried it in maui waves in overpowered 5.0m weather...not ideal but do-able.
Depends on how hard you want to make it for yourself.
yup in smooth wave conditions +20 is the base line. at 105kg on a 125lt i can uphaul when needed. while its definitely possible to uphaul a smaller board it takes a higher level of skill which i dont have
picked up an early model fanatic prowave as a lightwind wave option. wave sup for the kids.
probably pair it with a simmer tricera. ![]()
looks the business in the promo vid.
What volume are we talking?
was hoping you saw this one olskool.
it's 120lt but it's 74cm wide so pretty stable. fanatic also did a 9'3 130lt version. too small for us as a sup but as a wave board in float and ride conditions it's got a lot going for it.
I've got a 9'2 allwave I use in the surf and it's got longboard surfibg traits. the prowave has more rocker and thinner rails and is more aimed at pocket surfing.
Yeah looking at vid, its quite a manouverable board in surfing or sailing mode.![]()
i think at some point fanatic dropped the mast insert from the design. anyways there is one for $200 in the buy and sell and i paid not much more than that for mine.
The Simmer Quantum 115 is the board for you, I'm 110kg and this thing rocks. Handles all conditions for me from light wind DTL float and ride to over powered high winds. Been using it as a thruster lately with K4s and it's just an amazing setup for me with my 5.6 .
