There will be a state wide Gun Fight style Multi GPS Comp this weekend. Scores will be tallied as a total combined result from 2sec, 5x10, 1 hour, NM and Alpha.
Rules:
1/ Open location. You can sail anywhere in the state. You are permitted to sail at multiple locations if required, usual GPSTC rules apply. i.e. one clean file supplied per day.
2/ Only your best days total will be used. This means the comp is over two days but you only need to go out on one of the days to get a result. If you do sail both days only your best day's result will be used.
3/ All results must be uploaded to GPSTC via KA72. If your results do not appear in KA72 they will not be used.
If you would like to be part of this event, please post here or send a pm to me to confirm. Only those that confirm their participation will be included in the results.
This is a fun event with no affiliation to any windsurfing association. There are no organising bodies and individual sailors are responsible for their own safety and others around them.

You guys up north should come down here and sail on Saturday or Sunday if the forecast isn't as good. No different than us going up to Port Sorell or Stanley (travel wise). Should be heaps of fun. Kaleb maybe we should come up for another name for this style of event rather than gun fight. Well I guess it is kinda a gunfight. I like the idea of just the 2 sec comp being called a gunfight (maybe??).
Steve, I didn't know what to call it so just stole Russ's gun fight approach. Maybe GPS 5 Cat Shootout (Cat for Category) or something in future.

Now, now, don't go confusing everyone, if we change the name we might put someone off from competing and they'll just go sailing instead ![]()
Only joking, ... how about just a shorter version of what Kaleb suggested - simply GPS5 ![]()
Windsurfing Tas has a spare gps gt31 unit that is available to borrow for anyone who might like to join in the fun on the weekend. It is available down south here so pm me if you would like it.

How about Cowboys & Indians arrowfight![]()
Is there a place for the attack in the south where people are planning on heading or is this now going to be all secretive and tactical
It's more fun and motivating when we're all sailing together![]()
No secrets Kazz! Pretty south looking in the south, which means either anywhere in the Derwent/Mortimer area or Frederick Henry or Lagoon.
I'm going to check out Mortimer for first option and decide from there. If its good I'll leave the gate unlocked but closed.
I've always wondered what Cloudy Bay Lagoon would be like![]()
If anyone goes to Mortimer please close the gate after entering.
Look forward to catching up for a sail Cookie, at this stage I'll probably be going to Mortimer at around 10-11am. Directions are on the Spot guide, but if you get lost, give us a call!!

I checked out cloudy lagoon when I went there for a surf 3 weeks ago looks great but you would have to access it from the lighthouse road
We're 30 minutes away from the start of the first GPS5 state wide event and this is the starting list so far. Never too late to enter. Will be taking extra entries up until Sunday morning, 8am cut off.
