Yeah might have to take Buzzy off the list I've seen him do an end over off a mast high waves at Nettley's......................but then Clarky would know where that is...............anything past 1km from Bell Buoy he'd need a passport

Good point about Buzzy Houston, but then I have seen you do 'end overs' too, and land them, clean, on your head, no hands and no feet - legendary!

In fact, every time you sail you pull out so many manoeuvres that no one has ever done before, that I sometimes wonder if you are actually windsurfing... you have taken windsurfing to the next level!

Do you think that you should be off the list too?

Seems like there are a lot of posts from people who can forward loop and are keen to shame those non loopers into pulling the trigger. I myself am a slacker and have no intention of changing that..... though I do admire the attitude of the beat generation like Kerouak ..

....but I am more into everyday things and doing boring stuff....but what about you guys who are talking it up....you can loop but that's yesterdays move( or maybe a few yesterdays ago)...what's next,..what is going to light the fire ....why are you out there on the water...another 50 or 500 loops just wont cut it....you need to go and watch some Mark Angulo vids and go for some new moves......I cant wait to see it all on video....but first (as we everyday folk say).....you need a mission statement ...how about the Wave 360.....Mussolini does some nice ones or Mark Angulos Mutants.....put it out there ...make some outrageous claims about what you are going to do...be mad...talk mad....then we might listen....

oh yeah ,, you cant loop until you can do it on both tacks

no one tack wonders here.

vw havent made a decent car since they put the engine back in the front, i love vdubs but hate the company, they copied tatra with the beetle motor and lancia with the vr6, hopefully now the arrogant pricks might get their just deserts with their diesel smoke and mirrors trickery.

I know the suspense is killing you but Session1 will have to wait till I get home as I may now be a pro windsurfer but I have no idea how to get the video converted to YouTube then posted............... while you wait do your homework and pull that trigger........ don't be fussed if you mess up I'll help you get finesse in your style when I'm back on the water

ENE forecast for Saturday. Houston, you can give us all a demo on correct technique. Don't worry about not being able to post YouTube vid.
I'll shoot some fresh video of tassie coach; Ant "Trigger Puller" demonstrating correct technique. My ten year old will post it for us. That is if your VW isn't broken!

"Trigger puller" is a bit of a mouthful isn't it? "Puller" is both more descriptive, and also more accurate.

Went for a sail on the pond tonight with Jez.
Perfect flatwater loop practice conditions, i certainly tried a few on my yet to be confident Starboard tack.
You have to try on 6 inch chop to 2 foot chop.,, go right down wind , hop, lift back leg, throw rig forward and across, look back and tuck up hard.
Anyone waiting for that perfect cross shore day 2 foot will never learn,, you have to learn in the conditions you have.


You just cant get enough of the sensation ,

you just have to repair the nose of your board afterwards!!!

Remember where the head goes the body will follow..

If you dont look back, you go forward at at a tremendous speed and eventually your feet fly out of the straps overtaking your face and you feel a nauseating "crack' in your back, followed by a massive head plant, often followed by a sense of worthlessness.

Forward loops, you just cant get enough of the sensation

I'm getting pretty good at nose repairs. Send crunched boards to Relic Repairs! Get pulling. It has the potential to fund my seasons toy list.

I don't want to disrupt the teachings too much but I actually look forward / at the sail the entire time! I must like the view better than looking back. But by doing this it allows me to make sure that I am bringing the rig across the board sufficiently so that I rotate horizontal. When you get lazy is when you start going end over end and creating greater potential to hurt yourself (when sufficiently high enough I guess).

I also find that I accomplish more complete rotations on my worse tack (starboard) as I put more emphasis and thinking into my technique. As I mentioned above I tend to get lazy on port tack and end up going end over end.

Geared and I are going to make a killing. Order lots of cross ply for sail repairs and booms! Jem Hall and Matt Pritchard have lots of step by step vids showing how to trash your gear...umm agh loop. I've stocked up on epoxy and glass mat.

It's also going to take some work patching up all the smashed boards. All stoked up un epoxy and glass fibre mat. Repairs done for liquid favours!
Unfortunately surgeons don't accept beer as payment for patching up busted up windsurfers.They have prestige car leases to pay, european holidays to fund, and mansions to maintain!.

I think if you are going to learn from very small chop ,,i.e flat water forwards in half knee high ramps looking back greatly improves rotation.

Once you have mastered the forward , and going off big waves you dont have to look back look back ( i dont as well).
