spent a lotta miles checking out waits 10yrs ago
bottom line i found- it either blows straight offshore outta the creek or onshore round the headland
day st cranks if you're up to it; gotta be fit, gotta be there a lot; sailed 15 daus last september and 1-2 days/week on average from june
Plenty of wind this morning good to see half a dozen on the water - but the swell deserted us - very scarce chest high sets with 15-25knts at U's
Chris and Jaob were blasting at Triggs in 35knts about 330pm - looked like they were out of control on 4.2's.
Looks like more wind for the next three days - snaps fri arvo and fitness testing at Middleton Sat morning........
A short session at U-turns was the first time I've been in the water in ages.
Too bad my 20 minutes of sailing turned into 4 hours in the emergency department followed by the next 6 weeks in another ****in cast!
I think I've got chalk for bones!!!
Yeah I know, I thought it was just going to be a sprain or badly bruised but thought I'd get it checked just in case.
Bugger about the wind, I thought we'd get a great sail in today.
Hopefully you get the wind and waves align some time over the weekend.
I'll be keener than ever after another layoff!
me and jacob got blown to smitherines.
my tip! when its 35+ knots! and the sand hurts when it blows onto you.stay on the beach! it was awesome fun tho. the conditions were it was a massive plus to just nail a gybe!!!!
wish some body got some photos! wouls have been awesome!
Sorry to hear about the foot Tony what a bas#$%d
Dzub- there was wind from after you left - me Marti, Dr Duck spearsy and Muzza were having a blast - all were overpowered by 1030- you should have hung around - dropped out when I first went out - nearly had paddle me gear in at 830. - At least you didn't miss too much in the swell dept.
Bummer. Winter sailing can be very hit and miss!!!
Forecast this morning is N/NW 20/30 knots. It is currently 12 knots.
Thanks Dave & Susie,
Probably out for 6 weeks... unless it's real good conditions before then![]()
It was just one of those weird things, wasn't doing anything exciting. My board was trying to backloop, my sail was trying to forward loop and I was just along for the ride
The footstraps I use are awesome except when you need to get your foot out in a hurry. I've crashed plenty of times and finished in the water with my foot still stuck in the strap, as it did this time, but my foot bones obviously aren't as strong as the straps! I think it's time to change back to the normal ones!
The cast is off
5 weeks to go![]()
Miss out on testing the new 2010 sails, but will be back firing well before the new board arrives!
Bring it on!!!
