Thank to eveyone who managed to come along was nice to catch up socially and watch wave sailing on a big screen (cheers Dave for the datat projector worked a treat) hope everyone had a good time - and those that hit the ball - hope it was a great nigght out.
From the brief "official stuff"
we will help out Brett with Robe this year with the windsurf side - nothing too hard just daily meeting and a few other things.
Winter events - definitely May wave event - general consensus was it happens on the first decent weekend of wind and waves in may - no set dates - call it days before if the swell and wind are lining up - may not work for all crew - but most people will be sailing if the conditions are looking good.
Do the same again in august - possibly organise a wave event at Bashams or somewhere with a large outer reef wave over winter when we get a big swell and strong nwr's - more on this in the future.
There were discussions of a mid winter trip away - somewhere with waves and good winds - beachport, yorkes or something may be the go - possibly June long weekend - suggestions for a good location would be welcome (not Maui thankyou Dave and Kim!)
Womens event - do it early in the summer at westlakes for begginer level - and look at a more intermediate day to follow up at a more open water and wind location in january or feb (dependant on water levels etc.)
Family day - tie this in with womens event or a seperate day - still to be sorted.
Beachport in October for the speed and wave event - should be on as per Pete
A few other things that I have forgotten - as my memory "Pale'd" over the night
Had a good night the beer was cold and sausages hot ( and a few were slightly charcoaled - too busy watching the windsurf movies on the big screen)
Hope all the children are not still sugar loaded this morning - and I hope Young baby Wade didn't scream all the way back to semaphore (great effort from all that were able to make it - be keen to do it again some time)
Maybe see you all amongst the waves this arvo - there is 2 ft of swell on the reefs and it's supposed to get bigger with the incoming tide.
Cheers,
Russ
