The pub has top meals.
Looking good - can't wait for a weekend away - well done Pete and crew - that coopers sounds nice after a cracking sail or SUP - was agreat weekend last year -
See ya down there
****.. this is less than two weeks away. Hopefully I'm back from my trip to NSW.
With lake George, people have told me I would have an issue getting there in my car (Diahatsu Charade). Is this still applicable ?. It isn't a go-anywhere car ![]()
massive clash of dates!!! gemmas 18th birthday party sat night. spewing!! it will be perfect conditions. [}:)]
Will try to get over there this year (or the next, or one after...
)
...didn't realise it was so close! ![]()
Shark Biscuit, you will have no trouble driving around the lake as the track has been bulldozed flat, have put up pictures a couple weeks ago, if the wind is in the north you only need to go to the end of the gravel road to sail in the middle lake. the water level is higher than the last photos and the boards have now been put into the outlet weir to stop water flowing out to sea on the lower tides, so level should stay good for summer as fresh water from drain M is still running in from our wet winter this year. see you on the water will be good to have some crew to sail with. Jimbob.
Possibly some southerlies fri - looks like a bit of SUP and surf action Sat Sunday - Monday is looking promising for some nww wind on the MArine maps forecast - but its a looooong way away and will probably change 20 times before the wekend.
Hows it looking from the locals perspective Jimbob???
Russh, I think you have hit the nail on the head, unfortunately.
At this stage, things don't look to good for the weekend, but as you said, it probably will change a few times between now and then. It certainly has been the norm down here for a few months now.
If there's no wind this weekend, then it will be the only weeknd I haven't been on the water in 2 months. Fingers crossed.
Even the swell is forecast to drop off over the weekend.
HAAK
Russh, there is markets in the main street to keep the girls happy on Sat morning. we can also organize a trip over the dunes in the 4wds and some sandhill fun, or the divaldo cup at the pool of siloam, surfing and paddling, i will be sailing friday if anyone is around early, see ya for a beer, Jimbob.
I like the idea of the divaldo cup, especially if light wind is forecast.
Marine service map not looking too good :(
might pack the fishing rod
Dave, for fishing the jetty is open again after the rebuild and there has been some whiting around, there is still a 6 metre swell on friday so the salmon hole should still be firing as it has all winter just use lures there. Russh I could be sailing anywhere if looks light will probably go the lake if not will be in the bay.
off to work now bloody arvo shift,
Hi Guy's!
One day until the weekend... hopefully the wind and swell deliver!
We've had a great response to the event and I think there'll be a good 30 - 40 sailors in town.
The plan is to meet in the Beachport carpark Saturday Morning at 11am for a weather and comp breif and to touch base for the weekend. Saturday (regardless of the weather) I'll have the Coopers on Ice and I'll fire up a BBQ for lunch at 12.00.
Saturday night we've arranged for a table out the back of the Beachport Hotel for counter meals from 6.30pm onwards. Adrian from the Beachport Hotel has kindly donated 4 free counter meals to competitors (which we'll give out during Saturday to sailors making the most of it!). Please let me know if you're keen to join us for a counter meal!
We'll make a plan for Sunday as the weekend progressews and the weather pattern becomes clearer!!!!
Looking forward to a big weekend!
See you there - Cheers Pete
Hi Pete & Onboard
Thanks for the beers and the snags, great to be at Beachport and catch up with everyone.
Thanks again![]()
Hi All. I 2nd that !. Probably the best part of the weekend was Jimbob's Dune ride experience. Whoa ! That just blew my mind. I'll post some piccies shortly.
Hey Sharkbiscuit,
Are you sure you want to post those pic's on this site? I've heard stories about what Jimbob gets up to in them there sand hills
Pity about the lack of wind but it was great to catch up and meet a few of you city slickers. Loved the vibe.
It was great to SUP with new guys and gals. Gets very lonely down here SUPing by myself.
Well done Pete,
To entice the wind, you should make it a SUP weekend that way it's bound to blow![]()
HAAK
Highasakite: it's a dog eat dog world in those dunes I tell you. Here are my kodak moments:
A long long time ago.. in a galaxy far far away..
Down town:
The only windsurfing action I saw all weekend:
At the split:
A hack in the dunes:
I had some footage of the SUP session when I was bobbing up and down in the surf... but the picture quality from my new water proof camera is so bad it's not worth posting.
Yes thanks for the Coopers and Snags, sad about the lack of wind, great to see a large number of crew showing up for the event.
Well done Pete !
Yeah great weekend and thanks Pete I enjoyed those beers BBQ and pub meal, Beachport is a great place with nice waves and friendly locals.
We had a super time this weekend, i can definately see a SUP finding its way onto our already full trailer, hmmm maybe a vito van is on order!
Thanks for a top weekend Pete, those coopers beers went down a treat, although I think I have had enough sausages to last a life time. Great event with many crew rocking up even though a poor forcast.
Always good to see Jamie and Ty's dad (name escapes sorry KOTP - Ian?)
Was awesome to be out on the lake again, I will post up some of the pics of the kiddies cruising around, as well as the big kids....
I love youse all!
Did I mention that I also cracked a few ribs on Sunday, those SUP boards are hard when you land on them
