im a sponsored rider who is a apprentice who stupidly got a mortgage = no money. hopefully pete will be able to get a demo. you can only sell them if people know what there getting! we need waves for wave boards too dont forget.

I have never demoed a board before. What about the old days where you get a custom made glass board and you tell them what you want and hope your on the same page as the shaper.Dad got a Wind Force and a Strapper made and he loved both. What ever you buy you just get used to it.2 years ago I was still on a 18 year glass board and it was big change to the new ones.
Just get one

Gunna Said

"they will leave 4 good gt stripes when you run over someone"

great call gunna nothing like a set of speed stripes over those speed humps out there they call swimmers, Tractor you should upgrade to the Quad so that you can get the quad puncture marks in the Hammy when you try the next big stunt ouch that must have hurt

had to say this cause I was dared sorry boys

keep it going I have been getting great enjoyment out of the reading this one

its good to see crew from interstate getting online and having a voice. shows that windsurfing is still a worldwide sport.

im just finding it puzzling why people are getting pissed at each other about 1 fin, 2 fins or 4.

i ride a board and rig that suited me 5 years ago when i weighed half what i do now.
I can still slash waves get silly air and have as much fun if not more as anyone else.
(even tho the sticker on my deck is pretty much holding my board together).

just get a board and rig u like. and get on with it.

**** this aint kiting its windsurfing! enjoy wat we have.

I think its healthy to talk about different fin options. It only went pear shaped when muzza bitched about hating his quad and hail sprouted bull thats not true.

I am up for quads, they are good in surfboards, sup and kiteboards so why would they not be in windsurfing. Its only the first year in development. Bet they are even better in a couple of years.

most of us cant sail well enough to tell the difference anyway.
we all just buy the new boards to help make our dicks seem longer!!

Ah you can't blame me, I just asked a simple question, mind you I have had a few good giggles from the reply's now.

I'm going to the Robe Easter event if anyone's keen for a board swap?

so two questions

1. Are the JP Quads convertable to a twinnie - are they the same botton shape (Bertie might be able to tell us)

2. Where do the thrusters fit in -
they were a revolution in getting power off the bottom turn - first came to light in around 1981 when Simon Anderson used them in 15ft+ Bells contest (yes I was there watching and I remember walking down to the beach and looking at Winkie Pop going - maybe tomorrow!!) so what are they like on modern design windsurf baords)

any one

Not sure Russ. I know the Starboard Quad have a US box so in onshore conditions you can change the fin set up.

Yes they are. They have the same hull shape with different box arrangements and size. Reg didnt order any of the kauli twins because of this. However the 63L twin is not offered in the quad. I'm not sure why, maybe weight or the board wasnt wide enough, or maybe they concentrated their R and D onto the common sized boards.

Cheers Bertie - I know when I first looked at the 92 twinnie I have I couldn't believe the concave in the bottom - but it sure works a treat - now all we need is some more waves - roll on winter (maybe Saturday arvo down Victor).
