Thanks Bushe, I rekon your right, better today, can put weight on it. Not against locals at all, just find the whole local thing way over rated! Prefer to hang with people who are freindly! Cheers ta
Best of luck with the foot Scotty. At least you were going for it by the sounds - can look at yourself honestly in the mirror.
Rehab and back on the horse - I found I appreciate the sport even more after making it back from an injury (the real ones, my foot recovered well but the back was a 12 month'r)....
Sounds like it was a great weekend down there. Wish I could make it and I really want to do it but I keep having something get in the way. Sounds like the vibe is pretty good overall.
So right, there is no Locals. I would like to windsurf with friends. I have to keep my eye on seabreeze, if only I knee you were out on Saturday , I would have come sooner. I have had so many injuries the last few years, I'm trying to get through another summer injury free.??
Bushe - presume thats you down south - Im gav nimon- getting slowly back into some windsurfing
expect i'll see you at reunion on 14/11
working in orthopaedics- in adelaide
- ps i reckon thats worth an xray. As it looks a bit worrying
What a great weekend - 15+ sailing at the surf beach - apparently as many speedies on the lake as well.
Fun surf & sail Friday, great wave sailing Saturday, some good solid waves Sunday - swell dropped a bit Monday but wind was blowin its bits off - a fun blast - Cain and Zubby gat a few at Robe then closer to the surf beach when it swung nnw.
There was a reasonable casualty list : a very sore foot (scotty Mac) broken uni - dave A) fin sliced leg (Max) sail panel (Pillie) twisted ankle (Mat - but didnt affect his sailing - got some screamers), nearly fractured cheek bone (SUP Vs Head - Kym), black "boom" eye James (Barri) misplaced enigma boom & carbon extension (lost on beach near BoxieBiketrackMobrays???), - this is only the ones I know of.
Great find of the weekend: Max's location of a Go Pro in the shore break at BoxieBiketrackMobrays?? lost in the surf in December 2013: Dave posted some shots and found the owner (Facebook) who was staying 3 doors away
Great weekend, some great sailing with everyone getting some waves and pushing themselves - look forward to Daves final cut (Going by what he showed us Sat night there was a lot of footage for him to choose from)
Thanks everyone for a great weekend and for the Beachport for just being such a nice place - gotta love the Limey!!
There are two locals that sail beachport bushe?
And if you went 50km each way I can name another 10 people , who kite or windsurf ?
That's good Scotty...not much fun if it was broken and coming into summer
Sounds like it was a good weekend with wind and waves
Since when did local bull sh@t start with windsurfing. It's such a friendly social sport. It's not like surfing. 20 sailers can easily sail one spot without really stepping on each other's feet.
No one said anything about local B*** **** on the water Josh..everyone is good on the water
Think your reading it wrong.
All that was said, in respect to the locals , don't change a name of a spot that has one
And said in fun and giggles...
There's a couple of threads in the one conversation here!
Everyone calm the farm!
Seems there are a few names for the same spots along he Beachport to Southend stretch, I'm still confused as to what is Boxfish, Bike Track or Mowbrays (I know there there is not a place called Rods Place! lol) I would love to have it drawn out on a map so we all know the correct names in the future....
And there was no issues with locals that I know of, a couple of grumpy bike riders on the beach (who kindly sprayed my camera gear with sand on Saturday afternoon because we had taken over the beach with rigs and dogs etc - cheers for that KTM enduro rider!!!)
In fact, we taught about 4 local kids to sail at the Pool of Silome on Sunday afternoon, so local appreciation levels were pretty high I thought,
Just seen this been in indo.
If a local picked up the boom will probably get offerered to me in the pub, will a keep an eye out for it but a lot of Vic 4wd crew around that weekend.
