Windsurfing SA will be holding the annual Beachport October Long Weekend Social Competition again this year, dates will be 3rd, 4th and 5th of October, 2015
We are hoping to get some wind and waves along the Beachport beach or Robe if conditions suit,
Casual format, depending on numbers we will have a Junior, Womens and Open Mens and over 40's Mens.
I'm still working on prizes, any help appreciated here,
This weekend is always the highlight of our year sailing locally, beautiful beaches, usually waves, plenty of great accommodation (www.bythesea.com.au) and its always great catching up with the local and interstate visitors that make the trek,
Briefing will be in the Beachport surfers beach car park at 10am on Saturday 3rd September,
cost is $5
Must be a member of Windsurfing SA to compete
Sausages and beer after every sail!!!!
The weather this weekend is looking very nice indeed and the wind looks like it will be OK too especially Saturday,
For those of you coming down, lets catch up 10am at the surfers beach carpark at Beachport and then we can see where the best spot for the comp will be, or if its looking like Robe or further down the beach we will post up on here either late Friday or early Saturday,
See you all there on Saturday!
Looking really good for a days sailing tomorrow,
Let's all meet up in the surfers beach car park at Beachport at 10am then we can make a call as to where to sail.
A few of us sailed up at Mowbrays (about 2kms down the beach ) this afternoon, there's some good banks there again this year.
Forecast is saying 20-25 knots NNW on BOM, with a couple of foot of swell if today is anything to go by,
See you all tomorrow ;)
Not cool to call a spot a different name when it has one......respect to the locals , not in the big smoke now.
Ha ha ha
Ok, we are all set up about 2km down the beach from Beachport surf beach, about 12-15 sailors, 20/25 knot cross off, building swell

Over head high and 20 - 25 down the line at you know where.
Not good Scotty. How did you do that
That's why I love the South East so many places to sail.
Hope you all had fun yesterday
Beachport is a great spot when it turns it on
Went for a late hit on a bigger one. Dunno what happen, had a moment that I had no idea where I was and had the clew pass my forehead at a million knots! Maybe Dave got it on video dunno. Great day but and everyone having a ball!
Definitely worth getting looked at, I reckon. If it doesn't hurt to put pressure on the ball of your foot or if you push / pull on your big toe, then probably nothing broken... You can get a lot of bruising and internal bleeding from the pressure of the footstrap running hard along the foot (especially combined with some serious twisting), but only an x-ray / scan will tell you for sure.
Anyone around monday afternoon, looks promising
Think we'll be sailing from late morn pillie - prob same spot along beach a coupl k's from surf beach - forecast looks good and some good waves there this morning
If your walking on it, its good to go sailing on it![]()
When I snapped my foot (Lisfranc fracture and dislocation) I couldn't walk on it and I was very pale and start getting the shakes.
Same with my foot.....if you can walk on it ,all good
If you can't walk on it or put pressure on it , not so good .
I was out for 6 weeks
Can walk on my heel but not on my front of my foot or toe. Can pull or push my toe at all. See how it feels tomorrow.
" Can pull or push my toe at all." Did you mean "can't"? If so get it looked at as soon as you can. If there is a break, then it should be set (strapping should be enough; pinning may be necessary...). Otherwise there is a risk it won't heal and that runs a big chance of on-going trouble... Good luck!
Not used to crowds. More that 1 is a crowd down here. That's why I've nick named that spot you were sailing Lonely Beach.
